Heated Steering wheel?
When I look up my VIN I get the following two options:
248 STEERING WHEEL HEATING 255 SPORTS LEATHER STEERING WHEEL But either I don't have a Heated Steering wheel, or I don't know when the button is? Any Idea? Maybe the sport wheel override the heated option? This is on a 328i 2013 Sport line - Canadian (US model I guess). Thanks! |

The last two cars I got I passes on the salesman showing me anything or setting anything up for me, plus he already knew I had this. |

Kevin Mahoney was great also at Otto's. He spent a good 20 minutes going over every single detail at time of delivery. I actually wanted him to hurry up so I could drive the car.

I met with the BMW genius. I had 1 simple/complicated question, and answered it in seconds. I was kind of surprised.

That's true--but when the salesman gives you a line of BS before you buy the car, RTFM doesn't really help other than to find out he screwed you.

I've always requested my new car handover to be a 15 minute job. Sign some papers put on my private plate and away I go.
Reading the manual beforehand and reading the forums is far more helpful than the usual 1 hour handover. |

Not at all--you should fully do research. Downloading the owner's manual and reading it cover to cover will definitely accomplish that, if one were so motivated. It never occurred to me to do that--and I still usually know more than the sales person...

My salesman was definitely not up to snuff.
I'm in the process of reading the manual. But when someone who spend all his day selling a product tell you something; seems logical to believe him. Maybe its because it was a pre owned car. Anyway thanks for pointing it out. |

So yes, his job is to sell cars, not know anything about them. |

The day I picked up the car, I was told I "had" to sit with the dealership monkey to "go over the features of the car" and that it would take 45 minutes or so. So they send some pimply faced 19 year old out to the car with me, NOT my salesperson. We get to the car and the only thing the kid seems to want to do is get my mobile phone paired to the car. After 3 minutes of watching this kid try to figure out how to open the door (I'm exaggerating...a little), I said "I'm good. Just give me the keys."
Doesn't stop there, was picking up the car from service a few weeks ago...the service tech that brought my car out to me, said "Hot car. Love these new M3's." I have an F30, not an F80. I sure hope this isn't the kid working on my car. Anyway...educate yourself. OP, you did the right thing by coming here to get the answer to your question. I thought the heated steering wheel (came with my car config) was a bit of a gimmick, BUT I did use it a couple of times this winter, kind of nice. |

That was a couple of weeks after the MY16 cars showed up in the dealer system.

I guess its a hit or miss on salesmen. I had mine say the 435 does not come with 19 inch wheels as an option. The car was not in the website back then so I believed him.
We also just picked up a Macan for my wife and the salesman said, " No, Porsche does not make all weather rubbers mats for it yet." Got them 2 days later at another dealer. |
