M3 at big willow

Just got back today from wsir and I have a huge grin on my face even with the minor issues I had.

For one, mdm mode softened by brakes in 1 lap! Don't run it if your an aggressive driver

The other issue was a limp mode. Dash light was pretty ambiguous and it only happened once. Turned the car off and started it and it was fine. Never happened again. Might've been my low fuel that caused a couple stutters coming out of turns. Fuel level was just before the low fuel light turns on.

Pretty amazed at the chassis and power train. All of my reserves about this car was smashed after a single track day 😃. This car is for real

Fast lap driven by forum member Colatkitty

M3 vs gtr on the front straight. My comfort level dropped immediately after turn 3 from greasy tires and i pedaled back

yea I saw you a couple times, I left early because of the rain. you can code the fuel warning to come on at 1/8 instead of the 1/4 from the factory.

Good stuff. Yours is DCT?

They definitely suck the gas like a champ at the track. Mine went from 7/8 full to fuel reserve (<50 mile range) after just two 20 minute sessions. Really screws up your average mpg.

This is to be expected. Turbo engine suck gas like there's no tomorrow when you're really on it

Fortunately that is relatively seldom the case so the overall is still great.

Agreed! Averaged 28mpg there and back but 7mpg on track. I left early bc the track pumps were off. I'll probably bring my race cans with me next outing.

And yes I'm a dct

Speedventures is 12/20-21 but it might be too close to Christmas for me. It's my favorite track for sure but it's also the furthest from me and I hate working on Monday after the long drive!

You hung in there for a while I was trying so hard to pull 'even a foot' from you on the front straight I completely missed 1. I would say the e80 M3 pulls as hard as a cba GT-R.

havent been out there since the repave but it definitely worked your suspension before. I felt my jic c/o fade towards the end of a session. The only other times I've felt shock fade is when I'm hauling ass through the desserts or dunes!

Thanks for sharing OP! Is your car running stock tires and brake pads?

Which groups do you do your HPDE with? I've gone to a few speeventures and OTR days this hear but have had a lighter schedule this year since my Z435 has the usual N54 power reduction/limp mode issues

Looking forward to next year with a different car. Maybe we'll run into each other at the socal tracks.

Yes indeed. It was run showroom stock down to the alignment.

I run advanced for the most part except at button willow with speed ventures. Most of my track days are with extremespeed though, with some days with ncrc and sv. Always looking for good company at track! Swing by if you ever see me!

Definitely will, and I'm so excited to see these positive track reviews, which have helped me from being on the fence and about to switch to Z06 or Porsche to putting in an M3 order
