Can anyone help with a code question?

Pulled my VIN decode, and my car has the S693A Rear Speaker listing.

Anyone know the difference between the Rear Speaker and the Sat Prep? Why would they both have the same code if they're two different items?

I miss my Sirius from my previous vehicle, but before I drop nearly a grand on the Sirius receiver to go into my trunk I'm hoping to be able to get familiar with the differences...

I've seen an antenna connection in my trunk beside the IBOC decoder, but did not see the audio/power harness. Am I correct in presuming my shark fin is the correct split version? Could the power/audio harness be pinned underneath the IBOC?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

DK about the codes but if you have Sat. Prep and want it installed, you can do it for approx. 500-600. I did it when I bought my 08...09 came with Sat.

Thanks for the reply, hoping someone can clarify the difference between the two identical items for the code.

My build shows the code, but it shows it as the Rear Speaker option, rather than definitively saying it's the sat prep.

PM me the last 7 of your vin. Let me take a look.

Add option 655 for actual use of Satelite module. Make sure to have the distribution block to include the most wiring at the boot.. 693 I believe is just a prep code. Rear speaker system might be for another chassis (ie 7 series) with RSE...
