I am new to the e9x platform. Just picked up an '09 335i Vert M-Sport. It is loaded from what I can tell. I have a list of option codes below. I was in an '99 e39 528i M-Sport for 10+ years, so I am loving the new technology in my 3-series.

I have read a lot of threads and I must admit, I am still confused. My iPhone5s (ios 8+) connects to the system fine. I can do everything on the steering wheel, see my contacts, make & receive calls etc.

Issue 1 - My car came with the Y-cable and I have attached the Apple adapter to connect my phone. It charges my iPhone, but I cannot get the music to show up at all. At first, I got the error message that said the device is not supported. I rebooted my iPhone and now it charges with the Y-cable, but no music. It shows on the iDrive that I am connected to the Aux input, but that is it.

Do I have a bad Y-cable? Should I buy a new one for the iPhone 5? Should I purchase a Tune2Air adapter instead? Cannot figure it out.

Issue 2 - My car has Logic 7. I can turn it on or off. That is it. I do not have (from what I can tell) an option to change modes to 'concert,' for example.

Am I missing something? Do I have an older version of Logic7 and that is all I get? Again, cannot figure it out.

Hmm could be you have a non OEM y cable and or wait for the new update of iOS 8 dropping this Monday.

If you do need an OEM y cable let me know. I have no use for it

Not that this is guaranteed to help but there is a newer y cable with lightning
