I dont get the fetish with modding the AEX when the air enabler is already set for the task.

Before kaigoss chimes in: he was apparently running old firmware so the delay criticisms are inappropriate IMO

Well what happened was before i heard about the air enabler i initially purchased the airport express (few months back)..kept it ever since and finally had the time to open it up & didn't make sense to buy the air enabler

only thing i need now is dual usb car charger

the delay doesn't bother me too much. on sound cloud the music still plays while skipping the track but if its onboard music then it pauses and starts the new music.

I don't think it's a fetish - just some people have extra airports with nothing to do - so why not stick them in our cars.

Doesn't the airport express boot faster than the air-enabler ?

I kind of think it does but after sitting in the car countless times i didn't notice any long durations of boot up time..

Really enjoy this setup...but there are some things you have to do IMO..logic 7 has to be off and also iPhone EQ settings should be off as well...tweaking the cars EQ is fine...sounds super great

Nevermind I saw the model.

I kind of want to do this and try and put an apple tv or kivic one into my car and connect it through my modmynav interface. That possible?

i think so..check another thread on this section someone used chrome cast and hooked up to iDrive using android..so your setup maybe possible..

you want audio only? or both video & audio? i think it depends on what you want.

A little update on this thread...i had two toslink cables one from Mono-price & one from Belkin suffice to say Belkin one made it sound much better.

i could clearly hear the bass and clarity difference.

I want audio and video, looks like the kivic one is the best process because it has composite out.

Yeah perhaps...what would be sick though is if BMW supported CarPlay but they won't be anytime soon
