No rebates, but as with anything, what you actually pay for the thing is between you and the dealer...they own the car, so the longer it sits, the more it costs them to hold it, so yes, you may be able to negotiate in some markets (not all). Sounds like yours may be one that may negotiate. Some have reported some significant discounts.

Negotiating a sale price of a car is not hard. Decide on the highest price you want to pay for it and go offer the dealer something less than your max price. The dealer has a bottom line price he will sell the car at. It is your job to find out what that price is. Once you hit on a price (that you came up with) and the dealer will sell you the car for, you found the price. At this point being the i3 is so new and BMW thinks it is God's gift to the world, I doubt you'll get much off of the MSRP.

Thanks. I wasn't looking for negotiating advice, but I'll take it. I had a friend pick up a brand new z4 for 5000$ under invoice. That's the sort of deal I was inquiring about.

Lots of deals on petrol and diesel BMWs, but absolutely zero on i cars in the UK

Huge waiting lists for these cars in fact, so I don't blame BMW. Will help residuals though

Z4's are a specialty car "owned one" and they don't sell that quick. The numbers are pretty lousy in comparison to their other cars.

The 5k is very normal on this sort of car as well as the model has been out since 2009 so it's getting long in the tooth.

The I3 being so new your chances are slim to none, some dealers will as posted above as you should cal them up and buy from them. I have a good friend that works at the dealer here in Chicago and here they ain't budging a dime.

That's not bad considering the time it has been on sale in the USA, and the fact that BMW has done almost no advertising. I did my part in boosting that number!

Location does make a huge difference...some dealers near me have sold their entire allotment, most seem to only have a minimal stock on hand, and those coming in are often sold by the time they hit the dealership.

There are lots of cars in California and dealers willing to knock 5% - 7% off the price. I ordered a BEV which was in production (due in 6 weeks) for 5% off the sticker.

USAA Car Buying Service is saving me $3,405 off of MSRP on a fully loaded REx, plus $2,141 of interest savings by giving me a 0.59% loan. I get an additional $1,000 off from BMW USA as a result of the "BMW has $1,000 reasons to say “Thank you”" email they sent out Aug 8 to folks who attended the i3 drive events.

Don't forget about the $7,500 federal tax credit.
