TPMS

Hey fellas
So I bought a set of TPMS off a forum member and had them put onto the car. I tried doing the whole reset thru iDrive but it did not clear. The TPMS are for my car (pre lci) and I am sure my car is pre lci too. I was told I need them to be coded to my car for about $40 is this accurate? I also unplug the battery for a good 20 mins and nothing still. Any solution? Thanks

Thats what the tire shop said and I was a bit confused. Thats exactly what I thought too. Put them on reset thru iDrive wait a bit drive for x amount of miles and it'll disappear but sure wasn't the case here.

Oh ok and your car isn't a 2010? I only ask because some 2010 models have the lci sensors .

No its not. It's a 06/09 build with a N54 engine. But can it be possible?

Def not, you have an early build and his is an 07 so def no lci mix up, basically what you want is for the car sensor to work with the tpms in the wheels..they are obv wireless and run on a battery so it is possible that you need to replace the battery of the sensor. Assuming of course you are resetting them properly

And by resetting them properly would be...
Install them onto the wheels
Go into iDrive and reset
Wait a few mins
Drive around for x amount of miles
Code clear

Correct!? Or am I missing something?

How can I check the batteries on them?

Not sure since I've never had to deal with that, I might of given wrong info not sure if the battery can be replaced but life span of the battery is probably shorter than 7 years
