First mother's day gift ideas

It would be my wife's first mothers day and I want to give her something special.
Any good ideas?

1. Cut a hole a box
2. Stick your junk in the box....

Bouquet of her favourite flowers
Chocolate if she does that
Dinner

Standard stuff...

Then extras...

Book her into a spa. So she can get a massage, hair done, nails done etc.

Basically give her a chilled out day so she can put her feet up.

Gifts. Something personalised. Could be personalised charm bracelet... candle with a photo of the family on it... something funny or cute like a t-shirt... no.1 mom... or a teddy that says it if she is into those things. Something sentiment is even better if your mom gave you something and it is suitable to be gifted / you think your wife will like it.

Experience days are good to if you think she would like fun and doesn't want to go to the spa. Helicopter ride over the canyon... hire a boat head out to a lake... self-catering and you do all the cooking... I once took my wife to a raceway and she enjoyed drag racing for the day.

Really depends on her personality and what kind of things she is into / appreciates. The more thought you put into it the better. If you book anything then check to make sure it is all booked to avoid any disappointments. Have a plan B too.

I don't know if that helps.

In the same scenario here; very excited, expecting our first baby.
What I plan on doing:

1. Already got her a beautiful card from lovepopcards.com
2. Breakfast in bed (the lazy kind)
3. Day out shopping at her favorite places
4. Visiting my folks (her mom is out of town)

I think it'll be a fun day for both of us, really. We're just enjoying the process.
- Leo.

I won't be able to get it in time for Mother's Day, but I'm thinking I'll use it as a birthday or Christmas present now.

But this is basically what I'm planning on:
https://www.mynamenecklacecanada.com...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

Figure I put my two sons names on there, one on each side, and their respective birth dates on the other two sides. Something like that.

All good stuff! But she's bit spoiled and standard stuff doesn't work well unfortunately. But this card is great stuff! Please continue to share your success stories!

Honestly - I traced my son's hand on one of her first cards as I recall. You'd be surprised at how sentimental they think that stuff is, because the hand is so tiny, and they'll keep it and that to remind them of a nicer time when your son is being a complete jerk to her.

If you want to take this to the next level, go to a hobby shop and buy some clay and press his hand into it. Punch a hole so you can hang it and write his name and birthday on it before baking it.

I will say this though - you are going to look at it and go "Wow, that looks sloppy / stupid (because of where you had to place it in the card) / etc".

But my wife liked it!

I'm sure she will! This idea has a very good sentimental touch to it.

The jaded person in me wants to respond with "Don't buy her anything you will regret after the divorce."

The frosted shredded mini-wheat side of me will say, "Black and white photo of your sons hand inside your hand."

She's not your mother. Sounds cold but I have never given any of my wives mothers day presents. If you want to do something nice for her to show how you feel, make a big deal on your anniversary or on you babies first birthday.

Thats just me though.

Many years, in a sales position, three 20 something women came in to buy a broom.

They appeared to be fresh from happy hour as they were cutting up having a great time.

Upon completion of the sale I looked at the one that was the most vocal and asked if she wanted me to put it in a bag.... or would she be riding it home.

One of her girlfriends was laughing so hard she had lay down on the floor.
