was it for affirmative action that you included 'the guy that looks different from the rest of you' on the boat?

that's the guide/steer, he's not doing anywork, except direct the boaters where to go and how hard to paddle
There's a good risk of you getting flipped out of your boat..etc
it is definitely worth the risk, so much fun and a good upper body workout too

the river wasn't that rough.....not rough enough to wear helmets(our next adventure).....

a couple of us got thrown over overboard, but nothing serious.....

just a missing toenail, cuts, and bruises.

Never done white water in a raft. Done plenty in a canoe.

Still, it looks like fun and a great way to beat the heat.

White water rafting is amazing.

I've done once and it was a scary experience.

Looks like tons of fun, I've been twice and had a good time on both occasions. They were similar non-helmet trips. I've always wanted to kayak a river but never really got seriously interested enough to spend the money. You're making me want to go out again

I went to riviere rouge, about an hour north of Montreal. We went in the month of May, the water was f...king freezing.

I heard there's different skill levels on the Kern river, which one did you go on? Did you catch that sign that said "XXX people drowned on this river"?

I guess we were in the beginners group.....cause we didn't use any helmets.

Advanced levels required helmets......

The sign said, "XXX people died since 1976" on the road(HWY 178) going up to Lake Isabella.....

It was a very narrow road.....lots of twisties......

Basically....you fall off the road....you die/drown!

The water was WARM!

I did some white water rafting a couple years ago. Saw a guide get tossed from the raft and split his head open. On the same trip, we went down in two man kayaks.... I got tossed twice from the kayak and it was the scariest shit not knowing which way was up. Those vests really are life savers.
