Just bought a 2007 550i

I'm stoked. Car should be here end of week. 07 550i w/33k miles, CPO, Sport, Nav, BSM, CWP, SAT, Xenon, PDC,

I really really debated on what to get. Main reason I went with the 550i is the V8 instead of the TT6 in the 35s. Obviously, a JB3 with the TT6 is instant HP, are there any aftermarket mods out there to bump up the V8 in the 550i?

Any other common upgrades?

Thanks. Will post pics when I get it, should be early next week.

I messaged you

How do you like it thus far? What have your previous cars been? How is the automatic transmission, I'm leaning towards the Manual (if I can find it) or the SMG.

I test drove the 335i a few days ago, 550i test drive at 12

be careful with the 335. my fuel pump went with 18000 miles on a 2008 and they were NEVER able to fix it. wound up getting rid of it and ugraded to an M3 sedan. Thank the LORD the fuel pump went . WHAT AN M3 MACHINE

^Yeah I am definitely going BMW 550i. Just test drove one today and I am love, perfect balance between 335i and M5

I just need to decide 6 speed manual, SMG, or Steptronic? Decisions decisions.

luxury and performance. I think I made the right choice. I think the 3 series was too cramped for me and I know the back seat was cramped for our two babies. The 550i has plenty of get up and go. I hit 130 in it the other day on a quick blast and it was still pulling strong. The sport seats are awesome. I also really like the premium sound system and the comfort access. Im getting used to the Idrive, its not that bad. I can enter an addy in the GPS just as fast as I can in our Honda mini van. Plus, the 550i is just beautiful!

You should post some pictures!

Any other things to note about what you like or dislike about the car? Can you compare it to any other cars you have owned or test driven?

Glad your liking it thus far. I am trying to figure out if a 2008 550i is worth the premium over the 2007.

I too considered 08 but not real sure if I like the aero pkg and the roads around here are horrible and the 19's would take a beating. The CPO financing also saved a few grand in interest.

I dont really "dislike" anything about the car. the older i-drive is a pain but thats the price of a used car. Im fine with saving $30K off of sticker price and being 3 years behind the new technology.

I did drive the salesmans 528xi the other day and I am SOOO glad I went with the sport package. It is a night and day difference and I would not own one without it.

Sounds like you are really enjoying your car, now post up some pictures

Yeah I will either get a low mileage 2007 or a lightly used 2008. We will see what happens. These cars are hard as heck to find. What is the production ratio for 550i's to 530's like 10 to 1.

you have to get a 5 series, you wont regret it!! dont get me wrong, I do like the 3 series but 5 series has more to offer. For auto or manual, IMO, I always liked the manual. Congrats on the new ride and good luck to the other.......

Yeah I just need to figure out if the 2008 is worth the premium.

Dwoodman needs to post up pictures.

I could just get a 2007 with low mileage and just swap for a f10 with TT V8 in a year ot two. Which sounds like a better plan than wasting 5k+ more for 2008 550i

I just bought a 2007 550i last week with 52k miles. I'm still waiting for all the paperwork, but i did drive it for a few hours from PA to NY. Black with black interior, I love the V8 engine. Have fun with your Dwoodman, i'm going thru the manuals trying to get the hang of everything.

Congrats on the 550i.

You could go with some software and custom exhaust w/ x-pipe if can bear with the extra noise

Good call. I just did the same (black/manual/sport/nav/pdc/night v). No more e90 for me. Need to change my screen name, I guess.

Anyway, love it and would never go back. Nothing like that V8 growl and acceleration!
