Tilt steering vibrates on the way down

Greetings:

Upon starting my 2004 530i the steering wheel tilts down automatically. For the past few months there's a fairly strong vibration as it tilts down. I can live with it if it's going to be an expensive fix to tear the dash and steering apart. Anyone experience this?

Thanks,

John
