Can't disable DSC on 6-spd E60 M5???

The new car and driver had a comparo between the new E60 M5 with 6speed vs Audi S6 and Merc E63. The numbers for the M5 were sad.
6spd-----------SMG
0-60 4.7 ------4.2
1/4 13.0 ------12.5
mph 115 -------118

Lane change performance was way down and so was lateral G numbers. Apparently with the 6-speed, there is no way to disable DSC. You get a M Dynamic mode with lower threshold, but during testing, DSC kicked in lowering lateral G to .83 vs .89 in the SMG M5. Apparently, this there is less control of disengaging DSC with the manual because of liability issues (abused drivetrain parts, etc).

This doesn't sound great at all. I think this would deter potential buyers. I am sure someone will be investigating a way to completely disengage it. I hope this doesn't carry over to the new E90/92 M3.

sad, but it is also a 6 speed... I come out of an E60 M5 and the 7 speed SMG was a perfect match with this engine even if torque was a bit too low on the lower part of the rev range.

I am not surprised at all about these results on the 6 speed M5.

yah, looks like the problem with the 6MT is that u cant disable DTC, but maybe it's more than that, cuz the S6 numbers are even much more worse than expected

the s6 is slower than a 335i. I luv it great job audi.
