Business Book Summaries
Does anyone have any experience with websites that offer summaries of popular business books?
Any other suggestions? I thought about buying summaries online, but I want to see if anyone has done this before and recommend a good site. Thanks. Last edited by rsmamg; 02-21-2010 at 07:28 PM.. |

the point in getting an exducation is to learn imo. im not paying my school 50k a year to tell me to read a $10 book at the bookstore. and no, i do not work 70-80 hours a week to afford those cars. and that should be none of your concern. and why is that pathetic? some people amaze me |

Dude, there are only two major ways of learning at an educational institution, the point of getting an education is to do both. 1)Lectures, class participation 2) BOOKS (textbooks, supplementary reading material, online articles) Books constitute the majority of your education outside of the classroom. Just showing up at lectures and not being prepared makes you look silly. |

I graduated honor roll in some classes doing neither.. I'd show up to class and pass out in the back... business classes are BS anyways.. especially if you have experience... I don't see why you're giving him a hard time... it's up to him in the end.. he'll learn in one week working in the real thing what would take 5 months to teach in a class room

Cheating.
Yes, and you do that by doing the work your professor assigns you, such as reading the material. Quote:

I'd suggest taking a psych class to try to lessen your bewilderment toward human nature, but you probably would just cheat your way through that as well. |

like I said, reading the book is of no consequence
so long as he does the critique, it works out

You can't critique a book you've never read. When you read a book, you summarize it internally. You then critique the book based on your conclusions. Using someone elses efforts, conclusions, and summary in place of doing the assigned work is academic dishonesty, aka cheating. It's pretty sad when someone in college can't be bothered to read a couple of books.

I'm not a business major, but I find investing and business interesting and have already killed off 5 books since the summer started for me. And that's not even devoting full time, just leisure reading. |

wow lot of a-holes helping my issue.. maybe i should clarify.. its not a text book. its an ny times best seller type book.
some teachers offering this class dont require the book while others do. obviously not critical to the class. just for extra reading. |

well, you kinda screwed yourself by not reading those books beforehand. I dont know what to tell you. Most students these days pay for a degree but not an education. Its really sad.
