last night i got home from the midnight showing of bruno and noticed a dripping noise...well it was coming from my dining room ceiling. went to the attic and noticed the a/c drip pan had overfilled and was spilling over. i emptied it and went to bed, not much else i could have done at 2am. so anyway, i'm dead asleep and i hear what sounds like a car running through the house...and this is what i saw. this had to have been happening for a few days at least, this doesn't just happen right away.

damn, that sucks. were there any signs of water leakage, like spots? that damage is pretty hefty. hopefully that gets taken care of easily

OP - I feel very sorry for you You have my empathy.

I had a very similar situation where my A/C drip pan over filled and it luckily my parents got home right as it started to occur, so only the ceiling was dripping. luckily we fixed it before it got any worse, or else all hell would have broken loose!

Good luck on the repairs!

this had to have been going on for a week at least. no sign of water damage until last night, but it was obviously too late. the ceiling beams are all completely waterlogged.

I bought a house 6 months ago and just recently started living in it. All of a sudden i noticed that there was a slow drip coming out of the garage ceiling. The ceiling looked very solid and like it did not have any holes, so I was confused. An upstairs bathroom is right above it, so I was sure that this had to be the culprit.

Come to find out later that I was correct, and that clogged sink pipes was causing water to overflow the drain pan and drip slowly through the attic insulation and whatever else it has to go through.

Luckily I fixed it quickly. That shit happens.

I can almost guarantee you it was going on for longer than a week.
