How much do you like your 535i?
A few months ago I purchased a 335i. Absolutely love the car, but with a new baby, I feel that I need a little more room, especially for long trips. I do not like the pokey 528i though, after test driving. Now is the time for me to get a 535 with the rates and incentives without losing too much. I can get a decent deal.
My question is: How does everyone like theirs? Comfort, speed, fit and finish? I notice that my E90 seems a bit more refined on the interior than the 535. Has anyone here owned a 335 then a 535? I need enough room to carry all of these baby accessories around, also for a couple of sets of golf clubs. Please chime in on your love or hate of the 535i. Thanks! |

I absolutely love my 535i. I will admit rear leg room for the kids is a bit tight (I have 3 young daughters and I am 6'-4"), however, it's still not too uncomfortable to stuff the entire family in. The trunk on the 535i is huge. You will have no issues with carrying multiple golf bags + additional stuff in the 535 trunk.
The twin-turbo engine is fabulous. Stock it is very quick and responsive. Almost imperceptable turbo lag. I would say the only small annoyance is initially getting use to throttle tip-in. You'll find yourself jerking your head back unless you softly feather the throttle on take-off from a dead stop. I added the Vishnu Procede piggy-back ECU to my 535i, and now the acceleration is absolutely amazing. What more can I say... it's a BMW. They are just fantastic, fun machines to drive!

Indeed this is....whether you get the wagon or sedan you won't be sorry for the extra space. We have used x5s for the last 5 years and I drive a huge wagon right now also. The only problem with the BMW backseats is that the seat belt receivers are recessed into the seat making them murder to fit a belt onto around a baby seat or a booster. You also have to get used to barf and cookie crumbs and baby milk and juice all over your seats....if you can handle that, then go for it! I would not want a 3 series for babies....I had my '06 for 20 months while my girls were 4 and 5, and it's a tad small.....doable, but small. If I had to fit a carriage AND golf clubs in there, well, it would be impossible!

We've just purchased a 535 and I can tell you its the perfect blend of speed, comfort and style. Make no mistake about it, the 535 is a fast car but can carry the image of just an everyday BMW if it wants to. To me you cant beat that combo!

To me most of the difference in size is on the outside, the interior room isn't much different between the E90 and E60. Id say the E60 has more knee room for the rear passengers obviously, but other then that I find them to be very similar in the real world. The E60 does have a certain amount of style the E90 can't match which is what you pay alot for as well. I dont think you will find anyone say anything bad about the E60 because its one of BMWs best cars and will always put their best foot forward for the 5 series lineup. |

Grow up. Everyone uses their car for different things and most people like BMWs because they are versatile cars that can do well in sporty, comfort and utility situations. The same car can be driven in the hot equatorial summer or in cold snow covered roads. They even work for showing off in Hollywood. This is a testament to BMW, not something to get pissy over. So grow up and take the personal insults elsewhere if you really can't appreciate BMWs or true enthusiasts who will come in all different shapes and sizes.. |

I was considering trading in my 545 for the new 535 depending on if they toss in the new i-Drive, but with the new body style coming out soon enough, might as just well wait, IMO.
