2007 550i or 2008 528i CPO

I looked around and seems like the prices of the 2007 550i seems quite close to that of a 2008 528i.

I know that the 2008 has a slight redesign but the differences appear to be subtle. Another advantage of the 2008 is that in general it will have more warranty left.

How much can I expect to offer for a 2007 550i and 2008 528i, both CPO, around 15 to 20k miles? In general, the asking price ranges from $38k to $43k. In general, the 550i tends be equipped with more options. I am opting out of the 535i since long term reliabilty is questionable. 2008 550i seems to be out of my budget.

Which car should I consider, 2007 550i or 2008 528i?

Of course the 550i has much more power, but this will be a family car and I have a R35 GT-R already. Also, the fuel economy for the 550i does not seem to be a lot worse than that of the 528i so that is a bonus.

Thanks.

how about a 2008 535i? best of both worlds: performance, gas mileage, and price.....not to mention upgrading the performance on a 535i is less expensive with bigger gains on the N54 engine than the NA V8 550i.

If you get the 528i, you will be missing the power of the 550i/V8..that is why I think you should meet in the middle and get a 535i....GL

Yeah, I thought about the 535i too, but I am concerned about the long term reliabilty. I currently have a 335 that BMW is buying back due to a host of fuel pump related issues, so that's it for me. The 528 and 550 seems more solid in this regard.

To be honest, go with the 550i. If you buy a 528i, you might regret not getting the V8.
