Dog went straight into attack mode...that was crazy to watch. Not a cat fan but good for that little guy ninja flying to protect the kid.

The dog was surrendered and is slated to be put down this week. It is a lab/chow mix.

We had a rabbit that doubled as a baby alarm for years. Every time someone woke up, she ran into our bedroom and scratched us till one of us got up. No one needed to cry, since us parents were up in seconds and running to the nursery. When the kid was sleeping outside (Scandinavian thing, you wouldn't understand), the rabbit had to go with the kid.
Some animals have a great sense of the pact they live in, but one has to give it out to that cat. Many humans would have just ran from that situation. |

Pretty standard for many home security systems in more urban areas. We have six cameras around our house, two each in the front and back along with two covering the sides of the house. Have never actually used the footage for anything but they are there for everything from identifying criminals to having video evidence in case of some liability issue. Yard man claims an injury while working on my property and I have video showing the incident...

And of course most countries have much stricter limits on lawsuits. Those limits don't exist in Murica...

I heard about this on the radio on my drive into work this morning. Pretty cool stuff.
On the other hand, I woke up and my found that my girlfriends cat left a single turd in the middle of my damn living room. Cats still suck. |

I hate cats so much so after watching this video I have to make up a story to tell myself that it's ok to hate this cat. I came up with two scenarios:
1. The cat believed that the child was his human to torment and his alone, so he drove off a would be challenger to the cat's beloved prize. A more elaborate scenario: 2. The cat planted a time bomb in the child's leg. The dog realized this and was trying to save the child. The cat, realizing that the dog was about to foil his plan, thwarted the dog's attempts to save the child. Joking aside, it breaks my heart to see a dog (or any animal really) have to be put down due to poor training and habits by their owner. Thank goodness the cat was around. I also believe it wasn't even their cat, it was the neighbors cat. I love seeing any animal (even though I don't like cats) protecting others. |

That dog was indeed a good example of why most people should not get pets. I have trained a lot of problem dogs, which basically means I have spend a lot of time telling the owners to shut the hell up, stop pampering, look away if they must, and act like adults. In other words, take back the control with the animal, instead of running around it acting like they were helpless infant babies who can run. Best hobby ever, since I had the pleasure of shredding people with no need to avoid harshness, and as a reward I got to see happier dogs. |

Shhesh, thats a wild video.
Me, i can never own a pet. It's pointless. Pets are just a waste of money and time. I'd rather invest that money and time on a human (have a baby). If i'm lonely, i have plenty of hobbies i can engage myself with rather than adopting an animal to help with my loneliness.

From a consumer side, the threat of lawsuit (in part) means product warranties in the US are often the best, and safety recalls are more likely in the US. It's harder to take advantage of the consumer here than elsewhere. And no one has ever been sued in your country? Doubtful. |
