Tire coating product suggestions
So I’m more of a satin kinda guy as opposed to dripping wet-look guy.
What do you all use on your tires after detailing?

I like the Adam's graphene VRT. I disagree the dressings are a waste of time, I think the tires look far better with one. They look cleaner and more uniform to me.
I like the Adam's because it is indeed satin, and I've found that when I do cleaning (like once a month) it doesn't come off colored brown. In fact the tires just don't seem all that dirty to start with and I'm starting to use "just" soap and water and no chemicals on them. |

Especially if you live in super dry places. Your tires look sort of dusty and old very quickly without some kind of coating

Meguiar's Hyper Dressing
You can buy it in a gallon and dilute it in a spray bottle based on the type of finish you want on your tires. It's water based and doesn't sling everywhere once it drys on the tire. |

This is what I use. If satin is what you want this is the product.

How exactly is it a waste of time? By that logic, detailing a car at all should be a waste of time.
It's like putting on your best suit, only to pair it with some old, worn out and dirty shoes. I like Perl as it is easy to take off if you want a fresh coat. |

Cool. I should have mentioned I like something shaped like this as an applicator:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A1C1FWAP&psc=1 Put some of the dressing around the edges and middle both and then start going in circles. Once you get good at that wrist motion you'll be able to get the dressing right up to the edge of the wheel but not on it. |

My current favorite is Hybrid Solutions Graphene Acrylic. Nice satin finish. Just don't follow the instructions and spray it on. Spray it onto an applicator and wipe it on. I like that it slowly fades compared with others that look great one day and completely gone the next.
I've also been trying out TW new Mr Cartoon Tire Coating. I have a love hate with this one. First, it's glossier, so I don't think it is what you want. Second, it's truly a coating. That sounds great but it either sticks so hard that no amount of cleaning product and scrubbing will take it off, or it completely fails in spots. I'm only using this on one car and it'll stay that way. Once I change tires I'm gonna toss this one. Frustrating cause it will lasts weeks, but the failure spots just look like garbage. |
