It's a nor'easter!

Getting soaked here. Probably 2 to 3 inches by the time it's done. Anyone else getting soaked?

My new driveway, which is over a mile long and not yet paved, has become a depiction of the Nile.

Good grief make it stop.

They said it was supposed to start here at 11:00 am with the heaviest downpours around 5:00 pm and go until late tonight with up to 3 inches of rain and 50 mph winds. The sky opened up at about 2:00 but it was short lived. Just cloudy right now. My guess is when I walk out the door at 4:15, it will be hell.

I already have 0.20" in the rain bucket at home. It is raining moderately here in the Hudson Valley. I'll post the storm total later...

There were so many accidents on my rainy commute home a few minutes ago where you would think that we're in California and not upstate New York.....

A few million of my friends might be there visiting before weather starts, seeing those crazy things like leaves changing color and falling to the ground.

It hasn’t rained in a few weeks so any oil or fuel dripped on the road gets slick. Add that to it getting dark early and people’s stupidity in general. It’s like the first few snows. Hello. You live in NY/NJ. It snows here. Remember last year?!?!?
I hate people.

I'm right in the bright red/yellow part of your map and that map is not lying one bit!
Stay safe.

They will be seriously disappointed this year. Because of the dry September, the leaves went from green to dead with no real show of color this year. This rain/wind will surely strip all of the remaining dead leaves from the trees.

I think that it is also the wet leaves causing accidents, which might as well be snow because they are so slick. My street was completely covered this afternoon, and the wind is only going to move them around even more as the rain ends.

FWIW, I have recorded 1.08" in the rain bucket as of 9:10 PM EDT.....

It's been raining hard and windy AF here in Long Island. Less rain now but earlier it was quite heavy. Still got serious gusts of wind though

The storm total rainfall here was 1.79" in case anyone was curious. The barometer is flat now at 29.22, and the winds are under 10 MPH here (75+ miles from the coast).

Ready for a sobering thought? If it was a little bit colder, the rainfall could have easily been 18" of snow.....

Check out https://www.cocorahs.org/ for local rainfall totals. Pretty cool site for weather junkies.

The wind is going to pick up to 10-15 today, onshore. Taking the full leather jacket on the motorcycle

On the Best Coast, nor-easters (Santa Anas) are blowing like crazy. 81 this morning when I got up at 5. Direction changed a bit and we aren't getting the Tick (WTF?) fire ash this morning.

My son quit picking up his greenhouse after 2-3 tries, even with bricks in the bottom rack.
