Rookie questions about ECU tuning

Hello all,

I have recently had my car (F20) tuned by a professional (Stage 1 remapping) and I am little concerned about the following:

a) what will happen if BMW service center updates the software? will it erase the remapping?

b) any way to back it up?

c) is using Bimmercode to code basic settings (i.e. auto start-stop) will overwrite the remapping?

Software updates will erase the remapping.

Coding modules using Bimmercode or any other application does not impact the ECU map.

If the car is reflashed by the dealer you will need to have the tuner reflash the ECU if you did not use BM3 / MHD to unlock it or flash it yourself.
