Most drivers out there probably could care less if they saw an unproperly M badged BMW.
It's just us BMW Nerds who actually point it out.

That's the best part. Those who know M will immediately realize it's not a real M. Those that don't know what M is, couldn't care less.

I'm just so confused, who they are trying to impress??

Interesting how so many people have so much time to hate on people who do this. Just let people do what makes them happy. Everyone has a lot going on in there lives, if it gives someone happiness to slap a fake M badge, then so be it. Let them have their sliver of happiness.

Does people doing this take away from your experience of driving your car? No. Just enjoy your car and your ultimate driving machine.

Got to love that dedication. I'm figuring with the original cost of the car, plus the cost of the trim upgrade, the person may have had enough to buy an actual E46 M3.

To answer an earlier question of why it should bother some and not others for the fake badges? It feels, to me, in the same arena as "stolen valour". Now, stolen valour is a crime and an egregious insult to those who have served with distinction in the military whereas plastering a couple of badges on your bonnet is more tragic humour. Tbh, a bit cringey like having fake watches, ricing up one's ride, etc, but doesn't really bother me. Not everyone can be tasteful haha.

I'm guessing if your car is featured in this thread, then you don't have to worry about Biden's new tax plan?

That impressive torque peak is at 1,750 rpm, but it's downhill from there. This explains the peak power of 265 bhp at 4,500 rpm. I don't see too much thrilling about an engine that runs out of steam south of 5,000 rpm...
