I believe nothing this person says. If I wanted to irritate people, I could join a Lamborghini board and say that my Ferrari is better than their car. And I could write that I own 10 Ferrari's and shower the thread with all kinds of pictures and videos that I've copied from the internet. The reality is that it doesn't make it true, or worth my time doing.
I'm sorry you feel so lonely and insecure in your life that the only way people will pay you any attention is through this type of media discourse. Dammit, and I swore I wasn't going to respond again to this thread.

Bingo, usually it's pretty obvious haha. I see this sort of thing on plenty of car forums. It's always funny seeing people with signatures like "bugatti veyron, slr mclaren, lamborghini murcielago, porsche 911 turbo, 335i" when it's clear that those are not their cars, those are their dad's cars (and the 335i is "theirs" although usually purchased by their dad). Hey it's nothing to be ashamed of though, my father bought me my 335i. I don't pretend like I purchased this car myself, I know I'm lucky. I also don't put in my father's $100k+ cars in my signature and act like they are mine, because they are not haha. Nobody with a veyron drives a 335i even as a daily driver. |

Don't you kids have your own opinions? What's the matter, are you too insecure to trust yourself? Why do you have to say "Jay Leno said..." or post reviews and Youtube videos?
You like the car? Then just say it. Nothing wrong with that. But discuss it like someone with a brain and not jello in that place between your ears. Otherwise you got weak knees. And the only sex you'll ever get is looking at it on wheels. |

It's more sexier people! MORE SEXIER! You can't argue with that. More sexier adds 50 bhp at least.

I'm amazed this thread hasn't been locked. Anyway, to the OP, that is a nice looking car, and I did enjoy the video of it vs. the M5. But when he said flat out that the feel of the car was like riding a big dog or some such (seemed to say that it didn't feel as sporty [read fun] to drive), that killed it for me. I love the driving feel of the BMW, and this whole thread just makes me wish I could easily afford an M5. Ah well.

As a BMW (335i Convertible - NYC Car) and Jaguar (XKR Coupe - Florida car)) owner maybe I can put some unbiased light on the subject.
1. The Jaguar design is not an "Aston Martin Ripoff". Ian Callum was the chief of design for both firms. 2. Styling is subjective and both companies have made some very attractive and some rather unattractive cars. 3. I have driven both an M5 and and XFR on tracks (Monticello and Lime Rock) and have done hot laps as a passenger with top professional drivers. They are both very potent cars. 4. Our XKR has a much better balance between handling and comfort than the 335. The 335 (sport package) is not a pleasant car to drive on bad surfaces, 5. We enjoy both cars. The 335i comes very close to the XKR and was a lot less money. The most apparent diffence is the interior. While the 335i interior is very nice the Jag interior is in another league. 6. An M3 will outperform an XKR but both (and the 335 for that matter) offer a lot more performance than can be used on public roads and none of them are really sutable for serious track use. I just got back from a top down ride along the Delaware River on the 335i and it was a pleasure to drive on those roads. Then I got back to Manhattan and drove down the FDR drive and shook the fillings out of my teeth. CA |

Although i like the Jag, Both the E63 and M5 IMO are nicer cars and much more desirable. The Jag tries to hard to be something its not and looks tacky in the process.
You say Jay Leno talks about beautiful Jags, I would be almost certain he's referring to the classics, the truly beautiful Jags. On a side note, how do you like your c55? I'm assuming your talking about a w203. I owned one prior to my 335xi and loved that car. |

FACT: An M3 will not outperform an XKR nor a XFR. Jag XKR is aluminum body with 510hp V8 Supercharged. The aluminum body is 40% lighter than steel cars. You must not know your Jags. Fact: From Motortrend the 2010 XFR weighs 4378 pounds.
The M5 weighs a hair over 4000, regardless of this aluminum frame you so highly praise, the XFR weighs almost 400 pounds more. Did you miss my first post? |
