Depends on who you talk to and where they're at. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I've always had Verizon and never had an issue, so I have no experience with any other carriers.

I have a few friends that have ATT and like them.

I believe ATT's internet connection is faster, but probably not a huge difference.

If there were any other carrier I would switch to, it would be ATT.

AT&T Has shitty coverage, i get drop calls a lot...and it doesn't work in my house.

Verizon is expensive, but you're paying for the network, i get signals in elevators and subways as well...

verizon though is limiting. They just went 3G opposed to AT&T who has been on 3G for awhile. Their phones are limited and none are international. I left verizon after having them for years.

It depends on your purpose,

If you stay local and do not travel much and not interested in extra feature and do not care about the phone and putting extras on the phone like ringtones and the such, Verizon meets most peoples needs.

If you travel lots, and out side the US, you need good data services both here and as you travel, you want to tether your phone to you laptop so you can check email and you like messing with your phone and putting tones on and not have to pay for the extras then AT&T is a better deal.

Now, I am biased against Verizon since I tend to do all the things that Verizon does not allow the average user to do. I hate the fact that Verizon locks the phones USB and Bluetooth ports to keep you from adding pictures or ringtones to your phone, they want you to pay ever time to you move things back and forth to the phone. You have to pay to get pictures off your phone, on my AT&T phones I just connect them to my computer can download them.

The other thing I do is hook my phone to my laptop and use my phones broadband and data connection to surf the web and check emails when I am traveling. Verizion disable this feature on all their phones even though the phone supports this, they want you to buy another card and pay extra for this.

Lastly Verizon tends to be more difficult to deal with when you happen to have problems. Also, I have seen where AT&T dropped my rates automatically when they came out with better plans and my contract was up, they did not wait till I called them.

I get a few dropped calls.
Internet is not as fast as I expected.
But coming from Sprint... ATT rocks!!! lol

I recently switched from Verizon to AT&T. I actually have another AT&T phone from my work. The call quality with AT&T is much worse. The calls are poor and staticy. Sometimes its just barely adequate. I've had several dropped calls just over the last month. With Verizon, these issues were non-existent. Because I have about 4 different GSM phones I can use with AT&T, I know it's not my phones that are the problem. I have an LG Vu, Motorola Q9H, Samsung slider, and HTC wizard. All have the same problem with unclear and dropped calls. Last night I helped my friend setup his T-Mobile phone and it made me feel better because their coverage is even worse and the calls were even more poor.

I miss Verizon...

Pick which phone you want the most. The service is secondary.

I always have service with at&t everywhere I go. My parents and brother all have verizon and sometimes all I hear is static when I'm on the phone with one of them.

Verizon has been on 3G for a while now. Even my old BB from 2 years ago was on 3G with Verizon.

This is entirely up to your area. I have Verizon because of the excellent coverage. A lot of my friends have ATT, but they have no service at all when they come to my house.

I've had both, and, to me, it all boils down to how good the coverage is in your exact area. Therefore, you have to ask friends and co workers what there coverage is like. I live in a hilly area in Southern California and signal strength can be highly variable in certain spots and it can change based on the carrier.
