Much too cold for this Canadian as well. I despise swimming, though I manage from time to time. Usually only if the subject water takes on the temperature similar to that of nice warm bathwater.

No polar dips. Not ever.

Right now is hot tub time until spring. It's about mid 60's, night time is getting in the 50's which is perfect for the hot tub. I don't really swim, just enjoy relaxing with friends on a cold winter night.

Of course have to get out and roll in the snow from time to time to cool off.

Heh, here even the kids get to go to winter swims, and i think the water was closer to 55f today. I guess we are just used to our ways, and everyone swims when they want to, since we don't get warmer waters.

I think this is basically hooked to your childhood. In older times I was part of the German tradition of "anbaden" (free translated I think its earlyswim or so), that means on January 1st after breakfast, everybody at the cold beach got undressed down to swimsuit or neopren and then it goes for few minutes into the icecold baltic sea. Did that several years ago until I had to move caused by job. Never catched a cold or got otherwise ill or sick.
Now, with a very good heating, fireplaces and warm clothes...Im went too lazy and comfortable to do this again...but I understand Lups very well

I don't like warm water, and I'm scared of pools. My inlaws insisted on buying one of those heated water thingies, and i stopped going to their cabin. Even the smell of chlorine makes me sick.

I don't get the whole warm water swimming thing. It is gross.

Omg third day in a row, I'm going to die from a jalapeno overdose. My grocery store got five kilos (about 11pounds) of really good ones, i bought them all and I've been eating them for three days straight.

Is there a cure to this? My kids are making fun of me since I've eaten so much i can't even move.
