Meh. I dunno mate. I rely on operators to do their jobs, so when they don't my job suffers, then I look like I'm getting nothing done.

Better is when you work on a project for 7 months and improve the process ten fold and corporate doesn't want to give you credit for it.

This is my current desk situation, sorting through the better part of 800 carbide inserts, to find out which ones have both sides used, which ones are unused, and which ones still have one good edge.

This is the kind of shit I waste my time doing, because the operators don't know how to flip it around after one side is done. There's $900 worth of good tools right here in front of me. There should be $0 since these all came from scrap bins. This is only the first part number too, I still have to go through another 4 sets.

For sure. Some ops people are cool as hell and most tend to be very down to earth. Occasionally difficult, but a refreshing change from dealing with engineers with their head in the clouds.

Well, it wasn't millions, but it was $700,000 worth. My "goal" for the year is something like $180,000. Would have been set for the next couple years on the one project alone, now I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel since I'm only at $80k with my other projects.

After getting shut down on that project, they are lucky I show up for 8....ish hours a day. Until I get my credit, this place left a piss poor taste in my mouth.

It's a good reflection picture. The rest of the wall is covered in BMW posters and F1 calendars.

I think I tend to be honest to a fault as well. It's the quality I value most, though, and I don't expect others to sugarcoat things for me.

I've learned thru hard lessons to lie, lie and deny and still I fuck myself by being truthful.

I guess I mean honesty about others is easy true self analysis and honesty about and with yourself is rarely practiced.
