One of these to keep as my last ICE car alongside a BEV

- 6MT Supra- or 6MT Z if the reviews are good
- 6MT G80 - would wait for last model year
- 6MT GT3 Touring - not sure I could comfortably afford one but one can dream!

WOW ! I hope that is true. I'd be interested in picking one up.

My dream last ICE car would be the 2023 M2 Comp, but I'm wondering what BMW is not going to provide on it? The 2021/2022 models are missing a LOT of features due to this stupid Chip bullshit.

G87. I do believe it will be the last great fully ICE M car.

i hope the g87 is good. but honestly its looking like its going to be heavy. like 100-200 pounds over the f80 just for the regular b58 version. add on another 100 for the s58 g87 comp.

You mean subtract 100 for the s58 g87? M variants are typically lighter than the non M variants.

For example:

m340i xdrive: 3,979 lbs
m3c xdrive: 3,890 lbs

The s58 itself doesn't weigh more than the b58. It's actually technically slightly smaller than the b58.

Giulia QV for sure. Won't be many more opportunities to get a care with a Ferrari sourced engine.

Sounds like you've got your ducks in a row. Hope you get a car soon! We were offered a +$5k GTS coupe allocation after 5 month wait. Would have jumped on it if I were buying a 992, but my relative required a ragtop. Different strokes.

I would guess around 10-12k Z06s produced per year. There will be enough only if the C8 lifecycle runs long.

Are you saying there is going to be a B58 version G87? Maybe I am reading your post incorrectly.

His post reads like he thinks there will be a B58 and S58 powered G87.

i'm just going by history. historically the M2 is a non-S motor and the M2 comp gets the M3's motor.

The regular f87 M2 is like 150-200 pounds lighter than the comp and CS. The comp gets bigger wheels, tires, brakes, more cooling, bracing etc which all adds weight. The s55/s58 are twin turbo, the n55/b58 are single turbo (more piping = more weight)

So its likely they keep the same formula and give the base g87 M2 a B58... but you get the g80 suspension, base g80 brakes, and of course the M body work.

the current g87 m240 x drive is already 3900 pounds. they can drop a bit of weight with ditching the x drive and adding a cf roof. but weight will be added back on with the above things.

i'm guessing 3700 for the base m2 now. and 3800 for the comp.

Man a lot of "sporty" cars are tipping the scales well over 1700kgs, even 1800. That's properly heavy.

Honestly, probably either an f80 M3 or an e39 M5. You could probably consider either of those my casket.

Potential shout-outs go to:
Cayman GTS 4.0
Mazda CX-5

This is already confirmed the base g87 m2 will have a s58 motor

BRZ/GR86 will be first but we're holding off for a bit to see if there are any changes/other editions for MY23. Will probably bump the Corolla ahead of the Z since there's nothing official on a Nismo model yet. The Toyota dealership that I'm working with didn't want a deposit on the Corolla until they have official info and price from Toyota. Love the Emira as well but only interested in the V6, and I don't want to spend that much on any 1 car right now.
I seriously doubt it. They are so far behind they stopped allowing orders fro MY22 TWO months ago.

For me it's likely:

BRZ
S650 Gen Mustang.
New Z
Maybe a Supra

I like the GR Corolla, but with ongoing supply issues and Toyota already announcing they want it be have "exclusive availability" I suspect the ADM is going to be insane. And I'm not paying $50k for an economy car with a hopped up drivetrain.

But I'm continuing to save cash and have some bonuses coming this summer.......but I expect we are heading toward a recession toward the end of the year.

I think this is gonna be close to correct. As much as I like the form factor of the 2 series (liked the smaller 1 series size more) at 3700-3800lbs I'd rather have something with 4 doors, like a Giulia for example. There is a limit to the weight that makes sense on a small sporty car.. for my personal enjoyment anyways.
