545i manual vs automatic?

I am looking to get a 545i and I want to know if there is big performance difference between the manual and the automatic.

In this site I see that automatic is a little faster but it is stated sequential mode, so I suppose it is the SMG gearbox, not the regular automatic.

So I want to know if the regular automatic is much slower than the manual.
