In Shanghai...

Hello.
I am in Shanghai for a month... for work? I don't know... I have a lot of free time. Internet is slow and I am bored.
What are some cool places to go? eat? drink? gamble? etc...Anything cool I can only experience in China or Shanghai?
People I am with want to go clubbing. Any good clubs?

Any advice, recommendation would be much appreciated.

+1. Can't lose with this. Just ask anyone on the street. Someone will hook you up.

The Blarney Stone is a great Irish Pub... run by some expats from Ireland.

Hit up the Yuyuan Garden for a great "authentic" shopping experience. The pearl market is also there.

The Bund is a good place to kill time... lots of good restaurants/roof top bars in that area ("M on the Bund" is great w/good views at night)

People's square is kind of cool.

Watch out for scooters on the sidewalks and try not to die on the roadways... If you don't know what I mean, give it time. LOL.

If you're there for that long, you should make the trip to to Beijing and go see the great wall/Forbidden city, etc.

and/or

Hop a plane to Hong Kong or to Tokyo for the weekend... You've made the hard 13hr trip to get to that side of the world.. You should take advantage of where you are and get out to see all the big cities you can. They're all only 2-3 hours by plane and flights are cheap.

Thanks for all the advice. I've been eating like crazy and I think I've done most of the touristy stuff now. Waitan, People's square, Perl Tower, Xin Tian Di...

I would love to visit Beijing and other cities but... this is suppose to be work so it's not really an option. I go to Japan and Korea at least once a year so... I will have other opportunities.

We are suppose to go clubbing this weekend but with whores stealing my phone, fake alcohol, bitches harvesting my organs... not sure how I can relax and have fun....

I heard there's even a place that serves authentic Mexican food (yes, even the small tacos, not the Taco Bell chingaderas)... I'm sure being a fellow Angeleno you'd appreciate it.
