Way back before anyone coined the phrase "Think outside the box," we were "flying outside the aircraft."

I love the seatcover. Vinyl a little to hot?

Cushy USAF seating. Probably had heat and massage.

Ha! I wish. The sheepskin is right off the commercial airline shelf, but unfortunately when we flew "into the box" the armor kits were installed, and they were not comfortable at all. This one was a nice clean airshow example.

Not massage but masseuse, which is why there is the room behind the seat. Those planes take some really long trips you know.
The moon rises late tonight, no clouds and NO WIND! I'm on it.

Edit:
That armor beats having stuff blown off.

Nice shot, Kev. Moonrise was quite late last night and it wasn't going to clear the trees until almost 11PM, so no shots for me. Now I have to wait a while before it keeps more prime time hours again.

I'll never get a decent shot of this until I get a Takahashi lens.

Those are both pretty cool. I'm toying with buying a telescope to mount my 40D to. I grabbed a shot out of my car this morning of the moon, so I will be curious to see how it came out. Sadly yes, I go to work when it is still dark out!

Telescopes are just like lenses, they come in plastic and in fluorite. Depending on what you want and what you want to spend there are lots of choices. If you have a 400+ lens then you could also just get the drive and do timed exposures.

Yeah, what I am really after is the Celestron motor drive....

Anyhoo, I did take moon shots this morning, but I stopped after work and had some wine...and then some steak...and then some beers...so the camera is still in the car. This is a shot I took about 4 nights ago with my 300 2.8 with a 2Xtc...almost full moon

Those come fairly cheap, right? C5/7
Your 300 gets even sharper than that doesn't it? Very nice!
On the other hand, just for you taken ~3 years ago.

Love the sky in that first one Denn!

Kevin, the 300 is probably the sharpest lens I own...It is just also massive, hehe! It is pretty much a tripod only lens. I mean, you can hand hold it for a minute or so, but dang, it's a big beast.

Ah, nice shot! 1376 has sadly been repainted. It's harder and harder to find anything is SP grey anymore.

Back then my other pictures show it was pretty beat up. I could manage to swing that thing around at air shows at least. To rest I just stick the foot in my belt.

Don't think I've taken pics of a flames on bright daylight. I like how it turned out.
