One week to DST

Can't wait. We get to walk in daylight after dinner.

I'm the exception here. I hate DST. I'd much rather keep standard time. Whomever thought keeping this was a good idea can come over and change all my clocks.

Then again, my favorite seasons, in order, are winter, fall, spring and I absolutely dislike summer; too hot for me.

I'm with you, including the seasons, except my favorite season is fall.

I like standard time because it’s when the weather is cooler here.

I also like cool nights here in the fall and winter. I am definitely a night person.

Working in IT, my solution is to run all clocks on UTC. If the rest of the world would give up on the antiquated concepts of time zones and measuring time based on when the sun is highest in the sky, the clocks would never need to be adjusted because every one in the world would read the same time. Adjust society instead, and of course have Dolly Parton re-record "9 to 5" as '4 to 12" (UTC).....

It's amazing what a single hour change does to screw up my blood sugar levels.

I was just thinking it's almost warm enough in the morning to ride the motorcycle to work, and not have to lug home a bunch of excess clothing in the afternoon. Then they go and change it back to being dark when I get here.

I’m in the minority here as well and dislike DST. It wreaks havoc on my toddler and waking up in the dark to go to work is not something I like either. Plus for the first week or so after the change I’m more exhausted at work than usual.

Being in the northern parts of the US I would much prefer we stayed on DST. If we were to stuck on ST we would have sunrise between 4 and 4:15am in the summer!

I'm stuck on DFT. (Dog feeding time). It doesn't matter if the clock goes forward or back.

I hated DST around June/July in SLC. Get off the day shift in the day and come back to work 8 hours later and it's still light out!

I don’t care which one, but pick one and stick to it year round. I don’t see any value in changing clocks twice each year, although it is a good time to remember to change smoke alarm batteries.

Yeah, our cats get all screwed up when it comes to feeding times, too.

Why can't they just move the clock forward 30 minutes and be done with this BS they call DST because as we know it never truly saves anytime. That being said I am looking forward to it. This morning the sun was coming up at 0515.

My cat eats too fast and will puke it up if we give her too much so we give her small amounts every hour. Of course she doesn't eat when we sleep and she doesn't care if it's daylight saving time or standard time. Just feed...

OCD psycho dog's DFT is exactly 3:00 AM, and I swear that he can read the alarm clock and tell time! Luckily for me, he thinks that I don't feed him right so DW gets the polite paw to the head every morning. I tried keeping a treat jar on my night table as a snooze alarm, but that only works for five minutes.....

There is no “staying on DST” because doing that amounts to just permanently changing the time zones by an hour.

Then people could argue about how we should set clocks back an hour in November because it’s too dark in the morning.

They should just make it a law that the Earth has to change its orbit so the sun is always directly over the Equator. That would solve all this DST nonsense.

I guess it would be pretty depressing if the sun didn't "rise" until 8AM if we went to permanent DST. I don't know how those folks up around the Arctic Circle deal with such loooong nights and days, depending on the time of year.

The Oregon legislature is close to passing a law that would eliminate DST but only if Washington state and California do so as well within a number of years.
