Miss! How can they complain about Trump breaking the law, but not following the rule of law themselves?

US immigration agents find ways around 'sanctuary' policies - AP News

PHOENIX (AP) - Two years after New Mexico's largest county barred local law enforcement from cooperating with immigration authorities, its leaders learned that the policy was being subverted from within.
Staff members at the Bernalillo County jail in Albuquerque were still granting immigration authorities access to its database and, in some cases, tipping them off when a person of interest was being released.

"I was surprised and horrified," said Maggie Hart Stebbins, chairwoman of the Bernalillo County Commission. "Individual employees do not have the freedom to pick and choose what they want to observe."

That quickly becomes a gray area of local/state vs. federal law and responsibility.

There are pros and cons to both stances.

The "All Lives Matter" type of resolution they ended up passing instead of simply the anti-Semitism resolution that was initially proposed was definitely a miss, however.

Thread hasn't had much activity yet, but I can already forecast some of its more active participants:

Some BMW guy, with dodgy clit (even if you changed your username to COLD, I'm still going to read it like I misread it before, so you may as well just embrace it) and a Taskmaster to oversee it all.

About the death penalty? I actually agree about not using it, but (probably) for different reasons. I don't oppose it per se, but as a fiscal conservative, I hate how expensive it is, and probably should be (to be sure there aren't "mistakes").

And the witchhunt continues. I'm getting tired of this stupidity by the media trying to intermidate people into not being able to Express themselves in anyway during any point of their life otherwise they will try and use the outrage train to attack them.

To stay in topic since he on the side of the outrage train and was thought to be one of the Democrat party future superstars this appears to be a miss.

Reads like you're saying ICE agents are complaining about President Trump breaking the law. 🤷🏻*♂️

This reminds me of reports that exactly ZERO NJ residents surrendered their >10 round magazines after the state banned them. There's a percentage of people whom just aren't going to play along with ridiculous laws. I believe the term the Left likes to use for these situations is "civil disobedience."

Yup. Abolishing air travel sounds super cheap to implement.

Let's take one specific example: Corporate stock buybacks.

What I see is that the FED irresponsible easy money policy that allows corporations to do such thing.

What the Dems (Warren) see is stock buybacks dis-proportionally favor the rich (management) and hurts the poor (employees).

Why?

That's easy. This was sold as trickle down. The corporations make more profits by paying less taxes, this trickles down to the employees by pay raises, bonuses, etc.

My company has done an amazing amount of stock buybacks this last year and some of my very conservative coworkers are losing their minds thinking that money should have gone to them (the employees).

My point is most people would agree that stock buybacks could be abused by the corporations. Why don't the Dems see the root cause!

It could be really cheap, $.20 bullets. One to the head. Quick and painless. Maybe a little traumatic but hey, they're on death row for a reason.

The only problem with stock buybacks is that it signals the company has no better investment than its own stock. No growth opportunity, no acquisition, no equipment.

But a stock buyback also flows back to the economy. Funds go to shareholders who tender their shares. What do they do with the money? Invest in some other companies? Buy a car? Pay taxes? Those and more? All in all, they use the money more efficiently than the company doing the buyback would have, so itís a good thing. And ultimately that will result in more jobs and more worker pay. It may not be as direct as using the tax savings to hire people or give raises, but it gets there eventually.

Trickle down had its chance. Doesn't really work. Much like democrats pouring money into government programs. It never panned out.
