Dress shoes for driving

Anyone have a good recommendation for a dress shoe that can be worn to work but also has a good feel for driving? I find most have thick soles and clutch feel through the shoe is virtually nonexistent.

I actually keep a pair of sneakers in my trunk in my gym bag... If my attire requires dress shoes, I throw my sneakers on until I get to where going and swap them out...

Especially if you have a proper pair of dress shoes (leather soles) grip is nonexistent and I'm sure it will crease the hell out of them as well...

Starting to think I need to do this too. I have multiple pairs of shoes where the right foot is stretched out from arcing on the gas pedal.

Take the shoes off and drive with socks. Feels the best. Foot movement and feeling is not restricted.

Loafers with a nice treaded sole. If I'm going for a drive, more than often I'm wearing my sneakers.

Don't Americans wear trainers with their suits? At least that's the stereo type..... that and white socks...

Have you considered a driving loafer or a leather sole oxford?

Sounds like removing shoes and going barefoot/socks only is the way to go.

Get a proper driving loafer and change into the dress shoe on location. Anything else is a compromise.

Loafers work well. I also have these Puma Future Cats as dedicated driving/track shoes, in both colors. THEY ARE PERFECT!! $50 shipped is a pretty good deal btw.

My leather sole shoes are pretty slippery on the pedals, even when I've worn down the sole for grip, but it feels pretty boss to heel/toe and hoon around dressed to the nines. Although they are not the fanciest, my Clarks are extremely comfortable, plenty of grip, and the sole height matches perfectly for how much leg/foot movement I prefer.

They are BMW! They can't be bad!

Just because you are from LA, it doesn't mean you subconsciously are a few styles ahead of practically 99% of people whether you follow trends or not.

Just learn to drive with current shoes....they'll feel normal after a few drives. It took me a few days to get used to my new shoes.....

Well, the non-branded ones are ugly imo, and the Ferrari and Mercedes Benz ones are also ugly. I think the BMW ones are simple and elegant, and they also match the color scheme of my car/track equipment. They'd be better without the BMW logo, but overall they are nicer than the other options in terms of design and color choices. Driving shoes from other brands like Adidas and Piloti simply didn't look as nice.

They are actual driving shoes and advertised as such, and I actually use them for driving purposes only. Please show me what you wear on track.

Lol! I think my comment can be taken out of context. i was not commenting on fashion trend at all. I just couldn't believe theres a thread like this about driving shoes.... Let alone BMW shoes made by Puma with BMW badge on it. Are those photos even for real... or are the BMW logos just superglued on there??
