Put down a deposit on this Explorer 1 last month. Will be picking it up this weekend on Mother's Day. I've been eyeing this watch for a long time. Started with a Bell & Ross which was traded into Crown and Caliber. Got a Speedy Reduced from C&C.

I seriously did not consider buying until 6 months ago until I went to the Rolex store in Aria, Las Vegas. I've heard of shortages in Stainless Steel watches but didn't believe it until I went to the store in person. The sales lady showed me a Oyster and took down my information. She said she'd "email" me if a Explorer "comes up".

I went back home to Los Angeles last month and went to to check out a AD in the area. I asked the salesperson if they had a Explorer in stock and expecting them to say no. When the lady took me to their Rolex section they had only one in stock. I left and slept on it. I reminded myself of how hard it is to get one and came by the next day to put down a deposit.

I will update the pics next week when I am in possession of the watch.

Congratz on a fine piece. I gave up long time ago getting a oystersteal Daytona. Patiently waiting for AD to call for the sub I want now.

Congratulations, and over time, you will get the urge
to purchase another Rolex. I’m considering the Explorer, or the blue dial Oyster Perpetual, 36mm. I almost pulled the trigger on the white dial Explorer, however, it was too big for me. I don’t like watches over 40mm. My SS Submariner, and 36mm OP Datejust are part of my rotation. I also enjoy wearing my Sarb033. Nice, subtle, classy piece. A lot watch, for the money.
