Isn't High West an MGP buyer? I've had a bottle or two, but don't know that I'd pick it over Bulleit, another MGP buyer.

I tend to drink makers or knob creek mostly but branching out. Liked Weller 12 personally can get at local bar double for 15 bucks I think. I cant avoid markup as our state tax on booze is retarded. Was also gonna try nikka.

Blantons and Weller - I wouldn't pay anything above retail personally (~65 for Blantons and ~50 for the weller 12 if I remember right)
For Michters I find the American Whiskey way more enjoyable than their bourbon or their rye. I haven't had their single barrel offerings but I heard those are better for the bourbon and rye.
I haven't had a bad whistlepig but I think the oldworld is my favorite variety that I have had. Personally I like the Makers Mark Cask Strength better than WP 10 for a tad cheaper, and it is a high rye bill so the flavor is there.

Those recommendations are kind of all over. Do you have a few favorite whiskeys you could name and we could probably give some more targeted recommendations.

Agreed on the Bourye. I like their two by two rye better than the rendezvous rye myself. The Midwinter Nights Dram is pretty great if you can find it, but that is also ~$100 most places I have seen it.

Has anyone found any of the Game of Thrones Limited Edition bottles? If so, which ones? I can only find 4 of the 8, not including the White Walker. I’m trying to complete the collection and need some assistance.

I grabbed a bottle of Yellow Spot this morning and a couple more GoT bottle for the collection.

Obviously this is a traditional Mexican pottery. Always very colorful and bright. I don't know the artist. But my wife and I really like it.

The RUM is quite delicious too.

Yeah, if you're willing to go to the secondary market, nearly anything is "getable". The question is do you want to pay what it'll take to get it.

I'm a hard "no" on most bottles at secondary pricing.

I believe they are, yes.

Agreed with you there. I adore that Bulleit Barrel Strength Kentucky only release (no batch number on the label). I still have one unopened bottle in the cabinet.

I do love the Midwinter Night's Dram series from High West. I'm a fan of most port barrel finished bourbon/rye bottles I've tried, though.

It was 83* at my house here in Denver today. Tomorrow is expected to be a high of 41 with up to 8" of snow. Springtime in the Rockies.

Have you been able to try all 4 mash bills of the FRSB? I think the FRSB store picks are some of the best whiskeys I have had, and they are much more affordable than a lot of the other ones I like too.

I haven't yet, but I plan to now! This is actually the first bottle of Four Roses I've purchased. I picked it up because a local liquor store is doing a promotion - buy any of their store pick bottles in April to be entered into a drawing to win the option to purchase 1 of 15 available BTAC bottles, including 4 bottles of Pappy 23.

Pappy is arguably worth it at MSRP, especially if you haven't ever had it. There are a lot of bottles I like better for less $$$$, however.

You could always flip it - I considered doing that when we came up on the local liquor store's list and got a chance to buy a bottle of last year's Old Rip. $80 bottle that sells for $400 on the secondary market.

I opened it, though.

I agree with you. If I get a Pappy 23 I'll probably flip it. Too many other good bottles out there to justify drinking a $2000 bottle, even if I do get to purchase it at MSRP. Anything else on that list however, I'm opening it!
