Christmas Eve or Christmas?

Merry Christmas everyone!

As my wife and I finish up preparations to host Christmas Eve tomorrow, I started wondering how many others celebrate on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas like us? I grew up in an Italian-American household and my wife is originally from Nicaragua so we both grew up celebrating Christmas Eve. We continue to do so by hosting on Christmas Eve, albeit with a non-traditional Christmas Eve dinner, and pretty much don't do much of anything on Christmas Day.

So, of those who celebrate Christmas, how many celebrate in Christmas Eve vs. Christmas?

A mix. Bounce around various parties Christmas Eve and then celebrate Christmas day at home with the family...

Christmas Eve is the real party.

Christmas day you just go visit the losers who didn't make it in Christmas Eve.

Its an awful holiday and I do my best to not celebrate either. I'm on the hook to do the whole gift thing but I really despise it. Just all commercialized BS.
Probably doesn't help that I don't believe in the whole religion/God thing either.
Perhaps I'm just a buzzkill but I prefer being spontaneous about gifts and am thoughtful throughout the year rather than as a date specifies I must be.

Wife is Hispanic so we do tamales and posole on Eve, and everyone leaves with gifts

I'm Irish/German, so we do Day beginning with breakfast and gift, then sleep until dinner is ready unless there is a good basketball or football game.

i have to celebrate both days. I have 3 different parties to visit on xmas eve and 2 different ones on xmas. Its always a chore. It kinda takes the fun out of the holidays since i don't really get to relax at any of them.
