That is going to be a large part of this project. Drainage on my property is a big issue. I live at the bottom of a cul de sac and receive immense amounts of water during storms, that flow through my property and end up in a creek behind my house. Catch basins will be installed.

I did my own backyard. I wanted the very essentials:
1) A seating area that has pavers.
2) Planters: various sizes and design such as square, rectangular and circular.
3) BBQ isl.
4) seating area in front of the BBQ isl.
5) Firepit and seating area.
It took me 13 months but was taking my own sweet time to figure out stuff. Self-taught how to lay stones and pavers, level them, and cut them. I used rectangular stones purchased from Lowe’s as well as pavers (18”x18”)that was purchased from there too. 90’ bench was built using Cedar wood.
If I have to redo this I would have laid down drip system.

subbing. I hope to start my landscaping in the spring. It may get pushed off another year as I need to take at least a solid week of work off in order to build my flower bed out of dry stacked stone. The issue is that I live on a hill and want to keep the flower bed level and parallel with the base of the house; at the highest point it will need to be around 4' tall. Looking forward to having it completed but not looking forward to building it....then planting.

I also have a Japanese Maple bush that I need to transplant. Anyone have success with moving a bush about 4' in diameter? I know I need to do it in the late fall or late winter before spring, but I'm terrified I'm going to damage the roots.

If you're interested in high quality outdoor lighting and audio that will easily last 10-15 years, check out Coastal Source. Arguably the best. https://www.coastalsource.com

Took nine full weeks, but had the entire property landscaped. The back was my favorite.

Not a fan of Mitt Romney, but he was on the trail in 2015 and said he felt at home (wherever he was) because "the trees were the right hight." I hadn't thought about that until then, but now I always notice the height of the trees when I travel.

I love the state, but the trees aren't the right height in TX.
