Nothing. They're not related.

Also, you do not seem to know what socialism is.

i just finished a movie where the ending noted that the news is people's addiction. that supreme courts take years to make judgments yet news outlets can punch out a verdict in less than an hour.

Most the staunch republicans Im friends with who are my age (late 30's - early 40's) who live here in FL and a couple in Nashville are no longer willing to defend him.

For the most part all of our presidents have been aspirational figures - where as this president has been more of a mirror as to what assholes we Americans are. He ran against the worst candidate possible and won.

Now for the love of all things decent and good - let's find a goddamn replacement before irreparable damage is done.

Sure a Billionaire who never ran for office and picked up politics as a hobby, beats career politicians like Obama and crooked Hillary and outsmarted the whole establishment yet you believe he's an idiot.

I'm not calling him an idiot, much of his own staff is. He ran a smart campaign targeted at people who aren't. He nailed it.

Also, he did not beat Obama.

A lot of people got really tired of this attitude and decided to vote for the one candidate they’ve seen in a long time who at least appeared to have their backs. For a bunch of idiots, they did pretty well, dominating the electoral college, which is how we’ve elected presidents since the start of the Republic.

Some are weary of Trump’s tactics and “style” of leadership, sure. Some don’t like how he treats staff and former staff. Some think he went too far in Ukraine. But most do like his willingness to play hardball and at least try to make things better across so many issues. My guess is that when the nominations are set, if there is no other candidate who they can believe will back them and their issues/concerns, they will vote Trump - this is a bloc that does vote as a matter of civic duty.

Four years ago at this time Trump support had started to go underground because of the public shaming and berating. I’m seeing that again, but privately people tell me they will vote for Trump again. So I expect polling “error” once again and a good Trump turnout. He will have lost a lot of suburban vote so may not be able to win this time, but there seems to be more support than it appears. As with four years ago, IMO it is the Dems to lose, and they have proven quite capable of that.

you have to think how intolerant and juvenile you are if people have to hide they are voting for trump to spare your feelings or get into a stupid ass argument.

Trump support went underground because so many blatantly unpresidential things had come out about him (multiple extramarital affairs, revolving door of staff, catch and kill, hush money, oh and "grab 'em by the p*ssy"). I personally do not engage as most tend to really beat their chest and I frankly don't care enough to argue with a wall.

I don't disagree with anything else you said above. My comment wasn't an insult, it was a compliment. I heard the strategy right from Reince Priebus' mouth as he was standing next to me. It was a targeted campaign that hit the bullseye. "No big words."

I think it went underground because the anti-Trump crowd really got on anyone who indicated support for Trump - either by association (Trump had multiple extramarital affairs, is a misogynist, is stupid, is a bad businessman, etc., and if you support him you are either those things or too tolerant of them which makes you just as bad), or by direct accusation (Since you support Trump you are an ignorant, uneducated, racist, white male from flyover territory).

I know a lot of people (Rs and Ds) from all across the country who told me they were going to vote for Trump and many who confirmed it after the election; not one of them was blind to his many flaws; they just gave them different weight than they did his perceived strengths. Similarly, they viewed HRC differently than her supporters. Shaming or berating either side for their choice is non-productive and childish, and prevents a discussion on the merits; a large number of people got really fed up with being treated that way during the Obama administration and in HRC’s campaign (“deplorables” comes to mind), prioritized their voting accordingly, and carried Trump to the White House.

Much of that feeling has moderated, but the Dems are stirring it up again and putting what should be an easy election victory at great risk by their slate of candidates and rhetoric on the trail and in Washington.

This is exactly how Russia influences our politics. Certain people will literally believe anything they see on Facebook. Russia did NOT donate $145M to the Clinton Foundation.

Does anyone think our economy will be better with Biden or Earren?

Nope!

So if you have a home, money in the market, a 401k, you know like normal middle class people, a large economic downturn is not what you want. Markets will crash if Warren or Bernie gets elected.

It's too early to tell who makes it to the end for the Democrats. If someone like Bloomberg or Mayor Pete gets there, Trump will have a pretty tough road. I do not think HRC was a good candidate and she ran a terrible campaign.

Not for anything but the WWE-style rallies with people hurling insults at reporters doesn't exactly present the average Trump supporter in a good light. It just doesn't look like the classiest group of people. I know it doesn't represent every Trump voter, but that vocal minority is... interesting (like the lady saying she would need to know why Trump shot someone on Fifth ave before condemning it). There's a certain "come at me bro!" attitude that doesn't present well.

I agree on the rallies, and I think this is “acting out” against the perceived injustices and bullying coming at them. But that doesn’t make it good or acceptable behavior IMO. I guess civil discourse, if it ever really was a thing, is done. That genie ain’t goin’ back in the bottle.
