Steering Wheel Comparo and questions

I have never liked the steering wheel on my 5 (06 w/o sport) and im thinking of replacing it. im looking for a smaller diameter and thicker rim. any suggestions? for reference, i had a e90 and liked the size of the sport wheel and now have a 135i and LOVE the M sport wheel.
So... just wanted to know if anyone has done a swap, or knows of how the bmw steering wheels compare as well as if i can do a swap wit han e90....
