Who do you buy BMW parts from

Hello,

I am active on a few other car make forums and on those I learned who are the online vendors to buy OE, OEM, aftermarket parts from.

Curious who are the reputable BMW online vendors are?

I have bought from Pelican, FCP Euro, ECS Tuning, AutohausAZ for my P-cars. I mainly these guys for aftermarket and OEM for convenience of fast shipping, placing one big order for everything, and a good return policy as often I will order extras and if in the event I don't use everything I can always return items as the worst is you get into wrenching and get blocked because you forgot something or run out of something and now your car is stuck for another week.

As for OE I don't mind going to the dealer once I know who the discount online OE dealer parts desks are as I have been successful finding local parts desks who I can negotiate with and will discount and match the online dealer desks to earn your business to become long term customer.

Thanks so much.

SK

I work at a dealership and still purchase many parts from FCP Euro because of less-expensive alternatives to OE parts from OEM suppliers. Their lifetime warranty is interesting though I've never had to use it.

Thank you! Yes the FCP Euro warranty is great and the OE parts also a great alternative.

Choosing where to buy parts is everyone's business. I still look at different options before ordering riewes. Therefore, it is very important to find a reliable online store that offers original parts or high quality analogues, as well as high speed of delivery. In this case, the driver will have peace of mind about the condition of his car and be sure that it will be back on its wheels in the very near future. As for what to choose - original spare parts or analogues, the owner of a car depends on their financial capabilities and makes a decision.

www.getbmwparts.com

I've placed about 6 separate orders from them and they've all shipped out within 2 days and let me know within 1 day if an item is on backorder. They also seem to have the lowest shipped cost compared to other OEM parts vendors. Really happy with them and I have no reason to switch vendors.

The only correction I would make to that statement is to say that Get BMW Parts is actually a BMW dealership which means they sell OE parts, not OEM parts. The difference is when BMW sells a Bosch-BMW-branded spark plug it is an OE part. When Bosch brands an oil filter that fits a BMW, that is an Original Equipment Manufacturer selling a non-BMW-Original-Equipment part.

I just used it for the first time, albeit for our Volvo. At the end of the day, $183 for front pads & rotors and a full oil change: parts were $330, return shipping $138 (! 59 lbs of mostly rotors…), and FCP Euro refunded $285 under the lifetime replacement warranty.

For OEM parts I always use Evan at getbmwparts. They are either the cheapest or very near, and they are GREAT guys.

For aftermarket parts I try to buy from Mike at XPH, but do what I have to do if he doesn't have the parts available.

I try NOT to buy from IND because of the prices, but they are a fantastic resource of parts/videos and they are always very nice.

I ordered a part that was on backorder from a dealership and from Schmeidmann, I got the part from Schmeidmann in about a week and a half. I wanted to see how long it would take the dealership. After a month I canceled the order. I've also had cheaper Freight rates from them than from 2 states away. Just ordered something that's 30 day backorder, crossing my fingers it will be sooner like last time.

They have very reasonably priced used parts as well. They don't list the miles or years on them is the only downside. But priced to take a chance!

I usually first search Amazon and eBay with the BMW part number. One can occasionally find a real good price on OEM parts w/ free shipping.

For OEM parts, FCP Euro and ECS tuning are wonderful. ECS Tuning sometimes has shipping delays.
If you like a challenge, Rockauto is a fun and interactive puzzle game. The reward is car parts, but who cares about that. I made a $2,000+ order where everything came from the same place so I saved a ton of money on shipping. Took me like 3 hours lmao.
