I can't believe how much of an A-hole most people were. Would it have hurt them to just be nice, decline his money and walk away?!! C-Class guy is justified in his response though, very few people have the $$ for those and they are very exclusive.

I'm gonna say staged. I'm on my phone so not 100% sure but that looks like an E class Merc anyway. Makes no sense

It's staged 100%. Who talks like the first guy?
I saw it up to that point and then the guy comes explaining the purpose of the video. Then it clearly makes it staged. Soap opera. Not funny and stupid.

That first girl was sweet, good for her.

I work in downtown St. Louis, and I would often give money to any homeless person on the street that would come up to me and ask. I'm a big guy and don't look like your average person, so I think word got out about who I was/what I looked like. Within a couple weeks, I had homeless people waiting outside where I worked, where I parked, etc. Some of them even made things for me like music CDs, pottery, well wish cards, told me I wouldn't have to worry about my car being messed with, etc. It got to the point where I was followed inside to a Post Office one day, tapped on the shoulder, and asked if I could help a brother out.

I was always kind and respectful to these people, and you would be amazed how it was looked down upon by my fellow coworkers. I'll never forget the look of disgust my boss had when one evening I was walking her to her car, and a couple homeless people said things like "Hey Nick, how's it going man. Looking good bro!". She was shocked they knew my name, shocked that as a lawyer I would even acknowledge those people existed.

Many of the people on this video are a job loss away, or an illness away from being right where those homeless people are now. As our economy continues to collapse, and as more and more jobs are lost to automation and offshoring, you're going to see an increase in the number of homeless people. Many of them are not where they are because they are lazy or criminals, but rather they fell on hard times without a safety net (parents/family) or suffered an illness. It would be good of everyone to treat these people with dignity, and pray to the good Lord that you are fortunate in life to never experience what they do.

You could be one layoff, once big economic depression, or one big illness away from joining their ranks. Never forget that.

I like to tell myself that the guy was too stupid to realize he actually drives an E-Class.

But sadly it's likely staged.

I used to do that, not as much as you did but walking around DC if I saw a homeless person I'd give them a couple of bucks. Once I had just left a restaurant with some leftovers and someone asked for money. I didn't actually have any at the time so I asked if he wanted my food instead. He said no and that he wanted to buy some cigs.

I stopped doing it after that.

Yeah, I understand. I'm not naïve and I'm under no impression nor belief that the money I give these people is used for something productive. I surely don't begrudge anyone for not giving these people money, I was just taking more offense to how they were treating him with their comments. "No" is of course OK, they just needed to be respectful.

theres this one homeless guy that i see everyday in hte NYC subway that gets on the train car and makes this speech about how he was a runaway and just wants to save up $60 so he can get a bus ticket back to montana where hes from. every day i see him its the same speech and he keeps saying that he still needs $60. the first few times i heard him i gave him whatever change or singles i had in my wallet. last week i sit next to this well dressed guy on the train wearing jeans, polo, nice shoes, clean haircut.i coudlnt put my finger on it but i knew this guy looked familiar until it hit me that it was the same homeless guy. the problem is i cant figure out whether he legitimately needed the money to go back home or it was just a con.

My friend not long after graduating from college, traveled to China with some other people from college to celebrate and tour the country.

One day they were on a train station, I can't remember where they were going and where they were coming from, but they started talking to a girl who looked to be around their age just to pass time and who could speak English.

She mentioned that she was studying at college in town and that she's the first of her family from a small village in rural China to attend. She's trying to provide a better life for her and her family and gives them money whenever she can (she also worked part time). She said she usually visits as much as she can but sometimes between money and time she doesn't get to go as often as she liked.

My friend and the others all started pooling together the cash they had to give her so she could at least have some extra money to buy a ticket. When they offered to give it to her she absolutely refused to take the money and after much insistence she finally took it and broke out into tears and was incredibly grateful. After that, my friend and everyone else had assumed that she really hadn't seen her family in a very long time and were glad to of helped.

Sad that some may use a similar tactic to con honest people who really want to help someone.

As for the guy in the video, I think a lot more of the responses would've been more positive if he hadn't said "You look like you could use it". That's generally a condescending thing to say hence some of the harsh responses.

In browsing the comments for that video for my own amusement, apparently the guy who posted the video owns a BMW. Not sure if that's true or not. No one in that area seems to be able to differentiate a C Class from an E Class so guy may actually just own a bicycle.

I am not surprised about the result he got. It is not because what he did, but it is where he did the experiment at. (Wilshire and Cochran).
(I went to that FedEx Kinkos at least once a week)

Miracle mile district (~4000 Wilshire) to 10000 Wilshire has biggest douche in the country. I am so glad that I move out of that retarded place full of people who "pretend" to have money.

This is probably the fakest, most staged "social experiment" video I've seen so far. What will people come up with next in order to get enough views so they can make a few dollars off their videos?

"As opposed to garbage men picking up our garbage, what if we went to THEIR house and picked up THEIR garbage???"

Mercedes people can't even tell if that's an E or C FYI - and no one would be dumb enough enough (even if the video was fake) to make that mistake when the model of the car is right behind the car.

Garage List
...And people want to compare us to porcupines. "the pricks are on the inside..." STFU LOL. I love my car and all, but I don't think I'm better than anybody when I say I have a certain car, whether it's a Ford Pinto or a Bugatti...

... Although I'd troll him yelling, "E90, bitch!"
