my dad actually owns our e90 but he'll let me drive it when i want because he knows that i will take very good care of it. Also having a weekend job at the local BMW dealership helps becuase every saturday i get to clean, vacuum and drive the cars i love.

I'm 24 - been married for two years, own three cars and own a house. (one is loaned to my father, to help him out) I have always had to work hard and pay for everything that I have. I know it has taught me a lot of work ethic, and I wouldn't be where I'm at w/o the difficult times in the past... My future goals include, but aren't limited to owning my own business and being much more financially independent...

Wow, what more is there to being "more financially independent"? Sounds like you're doing great.

Well, I'd like to get much more money in the bank and establish a fixed retirement plan... Right now, I have kind of thwarted 401K and IRA's to put my money in real estate, but I would also like to have the "reserves" w/o tapping investments... Additionally, I don't see myself doing the 9-5 that many more years. I try to think outside the box...

First car was a 3 year lease on a 1999 Acura Integra (in 1999)
Next was a financed 2002 Acura RSX Type-S (in 2002)
Finally my financed 330i in 2006 at the age of 30

All cars paid for on my own while living on my own. So, I voted #3.

I bought my 325i in 2001 at 25. Leased my 545i in 2005 at 28 and living on my own. Paid for both myself.

I guess turning 30 in a couple weeks I can't consider myself young anymore.

I'm a spoiled 19 year-old; I have absolutely no financial independence from my parents (even though I don't live at home). My dad got me my car, sort of as a graduation gift, sort of because I got really high standardized test scores. I would like to pay for my own expenses, but my parents are well-off and don't mind at all; in fact, they've expressed in the past that they don't want me paying my own expenses until I graduate and get a real job. So, yeah, I'm spoiled but I appreciate everything they've done for me, and I try to repay them because all they want to see is me succeeding.

At least you have the decency to admit it in a nice way. Many teenage BMW owners out there act very stuck up about the car they drive and sometimes it can get both a bit angering and annoying. Me personally, I am financially independent and paid for my car entirely by myself. Most people look at me and figure, "Look at that spolied little bitch" because I look a couple years younger than I am and it sucks because they've got it all wrong. I'm not spolied and I'm not a bitch. I pay for everything myself. Sometimes I wish I could stick a sign to my forward and explain my life's story.

In concept, nothing. But in reality it makes those of us that had to work hard for what we have a little bitter because those that have their parents behind them financially are just getting a free ride and don't know what it's like out in the real world. But they'll get their wake-up call... one of these days.

No offense to my American neighbours but it doesn't take much to be driving a 3 series Bmw in the US... (if you lease it)
You can drive out with a 335 coupe practically fully loaded for 500$ a month on a lease.
Here in Canada it will cost you 1100$ for a fully loaded 335.
So if i were to spend the money i spend here on a car in the US i would probably be driving a Carrera...
For 500$ a month here on a lease you'll be driving Civic si...
