1M Interior Colors
So there are two final specs required for me to buy a 1M (assuming reasonable pricing and ED), and they aren't a requirement for 400hp or a carbon fiber cupholder. I need the fold down rear seats from the 135 since this car will be my utility vehicle as well as my backup track toy and daily commuter - hopefully they don't get scrapped to save 20 pounds. But the other big thing that I need will be interior colors besides black and grey (although cloth or alcantra could bring me around) - hopefully Rust Brown which is as cool as the Modena leather in my E36 - see here:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=404314 Or maybe I'd settle for the non-Individual Saddle Brown. So, assuming black, white and orange exterior colors, do you think there would be specs for a black interior and a brown (or Rust ) interior? My fingers are crossed. Discuss! (images of Modena on Alpine in an E36 M3 and Saddle Brown on Alpine on an E90/2, below) JD |

Interior colours was the other of my must haves for me to order a 1M
I agree, love that Saddle Brown..... we don't get that option on M3's here in the UK.... only a lighter Bamboo colour. The Saddle Brown would be great with the Valencia Orange |

Lemon! Lemon would look great with the M color stitching as well.

Is it too much to ask for an all cloth/alcantara interior as standard or as an option? And none of this bs with a couple cloth sections and the rest leather like on the E46 and E92 M3.

I really hope they offer fox red on the 1M. It's way classier and nicer than the hey look at meness of coral red

Personally, I think the 1M should come with real sport seats. Having just driven my car for six hours, the standard sport seats are nice, but they could be a tiny bit more firm. A 1M car should not have any compromises, //M or "//M Teknik" as I still like to remember it was about sport and the ultimate ride. The 1M should definitely be a faster, lighter version of the 135i, and yeah, maybe it goes a little faster than an M3 as well, but with the trim of the old M3 lightweight. If someone wants automatic and gadgets, they can buy a 135i. It remains to be seen what happens with this. Will be very interesting to see.

It will be interesting to see how BMW handles the situation with this car. They have narrowed the market to the hardcore enthusiasts already with revelations such as stick shift only. Will they provide what this segment of the market actually wants: as lightweight as possible, no options standard, all cloth interior, unique colors (laguna seca), suspension tuned for performance not cruising. Or will they come with the same garbage they have been lately by focusing on luxury and catering to the boring and conservative masses (just look at the boring colors available on the E92 M3 vs the awesomeness available on E46 M3). If BMW can't offer what the enthusiast wants on a car that is so focused on us, it may be time to look elsewhere.

Alcantara seat as a standart with manual seat without airbarg (same pattern as the M3 E30 Sport evo).
And after the full electric leather stuff as a option. That what they should do

Since alcantra isn't currently offered in the BMW line-up (as far as I know), I'd be surprised to see it in the 1M. Remember, they're trying to keep costs down as much as possible so I doubt we'll see any new and cool things like alcantra seats. However, we already know that they're stealing the M3's seats for the 1M, and the M3's base model seats are a cloth/leather combo, so I would not be surprised at all to see those as the base model 1M seats. Just my 2 cents.

As long as there is a Cloth option I will be happy having previously ordered a Speed Cloth E92 M3 and loved it.
