Jesse Jackson calls for BMW boycott

Firstly, I realize the sensitivity of this being that it's Jesse Jackson, but it is being widely reported.

http://www.autonews.com/article/2017...ackson-rainbow

Just by me guessing, in the article they list 5-brands Jackson's group list as diversified - but do you think they are also five brands that could have the most abusive lending/financing policies?

And is BMW different in another way, in that unlike Mercedes and it 1950's sales structure with Studebaker (I believe I'm correct) that may have set the stage for a more diverse ownership group in the future? BMW is like Porsche where initially mostly enthusiast dealers owners, but unlike Porsche, BMW offered a product that fitted a broader cliental, making BMW more appealing to a larger potential client then Porsche.

Then presently we have large corporations owning national dealer groups - so ownership by race becomes skewed.

The Liberals have screwed up the NFL, now I guess they need to move on to BMW...

A few years ago BMW of Sterling in VA tried to screw me on an alignment on my Z4 (said it needed new rear control arms at 23,000 miles) . So they've tried to screw their customers just like any other dealer. BMW of Sterling is African American owned, so all I can say is they operate no worse or better than a non-minority-owned dealership. However, I get all my parts from them; I hope that helps, Jessie.

Tiring.

One of the commentators described the problem fairly well. This is not a liberal or conservative problem, but rather a money problem.

"...everyone complains about not getting enough opportunities..."How many of you guys in this room have sold one of your dealerships"? A few hands went up in the air. The next question was "And of that group how many of you guys sold your store to another minority"?...All they care about is who is going to show them the most money, not what color they are."

Why doesn't he query all the Ski resorts, and see how many of his people like the snow?

All this victim counting is getting really old.

Nothing is stopping a black person form owning a BMW dealership if he has the cash flow. Guess he finally found something new to bitch about and someone else to try and hustle via a race card. Fuck him.

So what, a BMW Dealership owner is supposed to sell his Dealership to a minority for less money just because the minority person doesn't have enough money as some white person? Really?

Jessie Jackson is a Liberal, hence it is a Liberalist problem.

I'm pretty sure FORD helped finance NEW dealerships for minorities. And in the beginning some of the Korean makers were a little desperate to get anyone to open.
BMW may be different - I know of a family that owned both a BMW and Honda dealership - I think it's difficult getting really good people to run a dealership. So the owner kept the BMW and sold the Honda.

Then on a little different note, in the not to distant past the mercedes dealers in my area were locally family owned smaller operations w/only a few different manufactures - then mega corporations bought them, Autonation was one, and the atmospheric of these dealerships changed - so bad that I heard all the established techs left the Autonation Mercedes shop.

Most of these are family run and passed down generationally I think. Why do people force racial parity? That's like forcing 90% of male hairdressers to be straight. Silly. Hire on merits not color. If someone of color is best candidate but passed for a lesser candidate who's white, then there's a problem. Otherwise it's reverse discrimination.

It's the only thing people like JJ and Al Sharpton know how to do. They've figured out a way to monetize victimhood.

Maybe they could boycott the NFL because 90% of the players are black. That is way out of line with the population and is discrimination against non-blacks. Silly games people play.

Nah - probably boycott them because their menu is not diverse.
