What is this rusted, frayed cable?
Hello, does anyone know what this rusted, frayed cable is? Located under hood on passenger side, beneath exhaust manifold. Thank you.

It might be the engine grounding strap. Get it replaced because if it breaks, your car won't start.

It usually concerns a copper or aluminum flat cable. Be cautious of this defect; often, when the motor's stranding cable is damaged, the engine aligns through the CAS unit, irreversibly damaging it. Due to the ISN security, it's not possible to replace it plug and play.
