Nvidia 3080 - sold out everywhere

Welp. That didn't take long - the new Nvidia 3080 graphics card instantly sold out everywhere online.

Our Microcenter states it will have 25 in stock for in-person purchase only, but I imagine there is already a long line hours before opening outside of the store and that is not worth my time.

I was looking to buy one for my son (for Christmas) but will probably have to keep checking stock daily to try and score one. Not going to pay a scalper double the price either.

On a somewhat related note, while I am not a console gamer I heard the Playstation 5 went on sale this morning too and it has been a fiasco.

The PS5 just announced pricing and preorder info, it did not go on sale.

The 3080 is gonna be hard to get for a couple months just like any of Nvidias card launches. Once the 3070 and 3090 hit shelves it will slowly be easier to find a 3080. You will probably be able to find on before xmas if you keep an eye on stock at places like Microcenter or Newegg

Everything was a shit show, ps5, xbox, nvidia. Luckily I don't give a flying fuck about any of them. I might pick up the 3070 when you can buy one for retail, but in no hurry.

Same here. I was actually ready for both the 3080 and 3090 launches but the websites all crashed and by the time they came back up they were all sold out. Also not in any rush so I'll wait until the hype dies. I was planning on using them with the new build with AMD's newer Ryzens so I have time.

Yeah I have a 970Ti right now so basically any of the cards would be an upgrade for me, but I don't game enough to deal with the hype. I also read some stuff about some of them having issues due to some chips some manufacturers were using. I guess they are lower quality chips or something. So probably best to let them sort that out.

Bots and the scalpers behind those bots are a plague upon us and there must be something done to stop them.

I'm still using my 1080 Ti but my QHD 144hz gsync monitor would benefit from those higher frame rates of a 3080.

Don't think I'll be able to upgrade anytime soon though.

I really want to do a whole new build but not even going to consider it until the pricing/availability stabilizes. Would also like to know more about Ryzen 3.

On another level, demand will be high due to crypto mining farms, as the 3080 will boost that hardcore.

Bots are literally taking over any big new hw releases.

No thanks. I've picked up the 1660S from my local micro center for 239.99 USD.

30xx series will be in stock next year and I can wait.. nobody should pay above the retail prices for these GPU's.

Hi I'm new to the site just like to say hello. I love messing around with computers and cars. I have built a new PC for my brother, a nice system and was hoping to put a rtx 3070 card in it but the availability is crap or the price too high. Nvidia should have built up a stock before the release.

even if they do, miners and scalpers would buy them all since the performance gain over the 20 series is crazy.

What they should do, is to make it harder to buy a huge batch. All major stores should receive the biggest batch, and put a limit of 2 by buyer/address.

Looks like all the new releases of tech are going to be difficult to get hold of. I have been lucky enough to get an rtx3070 from a retailer in the UK. I must have been on the right page at the right time. Good luck with all your hunting.
