I would be asking for a tour and meet up, and then have cops meet me out there. Could always have your friend leave the door unlocked so if they say you can't go in, just do it anyway and take a look around. If they follow you in just say they were breaking and entering. Oh, and make sure to utilize the 2nd.

Email bombs. Get the guys email address. Yes, there will be some shady downloading of a program, might I suggest the vidalia browser. I have a particular email bomb that automatically signs the end user up for free gay porn subscriptions and floods their email address with so much gay porn that it basically renders their email account useless.
Yeah, i had a feeling you might pop up on this thread with some good tips. Although, you assume the scammer isnt gay. I mean, flooding his e-mail with dongs might just be a dream come true!

Reminds me of a time back in the mid 90s at my first job outta school when we re-labeled a co-worker's file cabinet drawer with "Gay Porn". That label was on the bottom drawer of the file cabinet under his desk for liek a year before anyone noticed. He had a technical writer at his desk one day to review some work instructions and she spots it. She's all "That's not very appropriate." he was embarrassed. That was the end of it. I shudder to think what that little prank would unleash out of the HR department today. There would be diversity training, all company meetings, volunteering, paying back the community, and for sure some terminations. Ahhhh the 90s. it was a simpler time.

Well my buddy heard back from the guy. He's definitely not local. Has a story about being called out to TX for work, had to leave in a hurry. Told my buddy he wanted to wrap this up fast and needed a deposit. Told him he was welcome to go by the house and look in the window but since he's in TX he cant let him in for a tour. Wants a deposit and will mail him the keys. Do people actually fall for this shit?

Anyway, told my buddy he needs to respond back with "Great! I'll swing by this weekend and take a look" Then we head over there and take some hilarious staged photos. we just let ourselves in and say the door was wide open. I could lay on the ground with a fake knife in my back and fake blood on the floor. We could put his 3 dogs, cat, and 4 chickens in a room with my 2 dogs and get a photo of all the "ferrule" animals living in the house. He's got photos from when he remodeled the house and tore our drywall and cut the floors out so there's just floor joists and dirt below We could include those photos and be like "What the fuck are you trying to rent to me? This place is trashed! There's a dead guy in the kitchen. I'm calling the cops right now and putting them in contact with you a this e-mail address..."

He may like the dongs, but I can assure you the dong email bomb can be quite annoying.....but then again, with email accounts easily available to anyone, the only headache would be not being able to retrieve emails that you are waiting on.

We just finished our harrassment training here last week. The entire time I was thinking of the stuff we did at an unnamed former employer. That shit would NOT fly today......at all. The workplace is like a prison now compared to the shit we used to get away with. I feel sorry for the generation entering the workforce these days. I used to keep Grey Goose in the fridge in my office and would occasionally tell my employees to go "hang out" in my office for a few, after dealing with an unruly customer. It worked great! The employees appreciated my understanding, my being laid back and offering 2 shots only (while the store was open, closing was a different matter all the way around) and honestly, it worked to my advantage as well; watching good sales people do their thing after having a couple of shots was A.) hilarious and B.) always resulted in more sales. Funny how alcohol makes sales people better at their craft.

.......then there were the unofficial Christmas parties that we had with the other shops in the strip mall.....during business hours; the store next to us was a "Head Shop." Ahhhhhh.....good times.

One older gentleman I worked with, he was actually pretty cool but had ZERO computer skills

We all had modems (9600) and I had a scheduled task that would dial and download a pic. That pic was displayed via his autoexec

Have to admit that is funny, probably will not get the reaction you want.

Yes people fall for this, right now properties are being rented without people seeing the property. People are doing virtual tours the saying they will take it and send deposits. This is happening all over Florida. My son did it two years ago when we moved to Florida. Went down for a couple days to rent a house could not find one either good ones were gone in hours of listing or they were garbage. He work with local agent and when one came up they saw pictures and told the agent they would take.

I need to know how to do this. A guy by the name of Kerry Howard entered his number in wrong which is in turn my number which has in turn lead to so many spam calls. I think I remember his DOB from when they called about health insurance so could probably find his e-mail.

I had the same thing happen. Some woman named Samantha Phillips. I've had the same cell number for 15 years and every couple years I start getting calls for her from clinics, hospitals, medical billers, and ultimately collection companies. Clearly she has some sort of medical issue, seeks help, and givens them my phone number on the billing paperwork. She's either an evil genius for remembering to use the same wrong number for 15 years, or is completely stupid.

You can be denying the obvious!

Seriously, I am sick and tired of those contact suckers ("-We want to suck your cock. -I don't want you to suck it. -Without that we won't provide the service you seek!") denying even my legal right to have no number.

When a BMW service wanted my E-mail and I chose to share one, I spelled it several times, explained the origin (those words for adults ), corrected a mistake on their display and still found it wrong in the paperwork. "No spam for me, Argentina!"

Usually I give them their own number (to enjoy ) but sometimes it's (easy and simple) 123456789 and I don't care about it's owner , if any. And I let them call me Susan. (Sorry, Susan! )

Due to wireless carriers recycling numbers, I get that they have no choice; to this day I still get random calls from bill collectors and from what I can only assume are the utmost pillars of the community looking for Misty Bilbrey. Had a company phone for years and when I left the company, got my new number and this shit has been going on since. I get people crying - wanting to know why she won't talk to them anymore, people mad thinking that I am screening her calls, extremely aggressive bill collectors, weird random text (and picture ) messages. Seriously got 50-something pictures of some morbidly obese woman with no clothes on one morning (this was recent) at about 3:00 am.

Yeah, it's a blast trying to explain this to the girlfriend. She's been around long enough to where she knows what's happening and laughs about it now; but it used to cause problems.

I think the way the scam works is that the scammer asks for money up front to process the application of something. My buddy has already set up a fake e-mail account and is ready to reach out. Give me some ideas to pass along to completely shred this scammer!

There is a 99% chance that this scammer is not even from the states, most of these scams are run through VPN to give a false sense of impression to the others. I got a call the other day about my taxes...some personal details were correct... and that I have to pay immediately to avoid prosecution !!! (The guy was not able to speak in English fluently..can you imagine)

This is a common tactic with frauds and scammers. When we move into our new home and got a new Land Line number, a few months later we got collection call looking for some guy. This went on for years most time we just let the answering machine deal with it. A few times we picked up and got an ear full about all the money this guy owed and how they were sending the police and FBI after us even though we try to tell them we were not that guy. Like they have not heard that excuse before. About 10 yrs later we were in Lowes buying new appliances and they gave an extra 10% off if we used there credit card. We gave the guy our home phone and he said can not give you credit, we asked why, well it was that guy again. He already ripped off Lowes and our phone number was on their black list. We did get credit after proving we were not him.

I attempted to track this guy down, but he was not used a real identity either, everything about him was fake. I suspect the police have caught up to him in recent years since the collection calls have stopped.

the key to scamming scammers is to make them believe you will actually send them money eventually. if you have nothing but time to kill, you can at the very least, get them extremely pissed off

also, meeting in person wont work. 99% of the time these people are not local and probably not in the USA.
