Moving to Cali
Hey pple, so ive been gone from this forum for a loooooong time or so it seems, I had an amazing time in California last month, instead of just staying for a wk and half i ended up staying a whole month... went snowboadring 2 wknds in Tahoe, went to San Fran to see the Golden Gate Bridge, went to Santa Cruz and visited the Mystery Spot, went to Carmel and shopped and went to their beach and visited the Million+ Dollar houses and so much more. I came home 2 wks ago, things arent going as planned here but i got offered a good paying job in california so now im pakn and getn ready to move to Sacramento this coming wknd. I dont know anyone in California besides my Mom, Dad, Little Brother and Sister, im leaving everything and everyone behind here in texas so this is totaly new to me, hope its not long that I have friends more around my age. If your around Sac and wana chill hit me up.

you should also try to make it out to bimmerfest in santa barbara this year. it may be a bit much, being new to the state and all, but i promise youll love it; especially if you caravan with the norcal guys. its basically the biggest bmw enthusiast meet in the united states (and probably the world). the caravan is awesome and the coastal drive is gorgeous. https://eventreg.bimmerfest.com/even...tdetail&EvId=3

Are you sure you want to move there? Not hating on the people in that state, but financially it's about as jacked up as Michigan. Hope this job you were offered doesn't evaporate in a couple months...

Welcome to sunny california. Very diverse compared to a lot of other states so be prepared for that. I was born and raised here so I can't really say that it's better than this place or that place. Doesn't get too cold here. It can get pretty damn hot but dry heat instead of humidity. You have the ocean and beaches to our west. So I say we have it pretty good here in CA. Too bad the high cost of living, 1% tax increase, and the increase of registration renewal fee is messing it all up. damn it! well enjoy

Well thanks for the welcomes, umm yes I will be a firefighter for the forest I loved California, Ive been to LA 8 times and it got kinda old so Ive been to Sacramento to visit my Mom Dad and Siblings twice there, I was there for a full month in March, I just got to Texas a little less than 2 wks ago. I was able to see the differences of living there and enviorment, I gotta say its Very different than TX, I thought the weather was always perfect, compared to here in TX at least, we have the humidity so when its 110 it feels like 130 when it gets cold it gets pretty low in temperature, it doesnt rain near as much here in TX so the land isnt as Green as California, Sacramento is very small and unpopulated compared to San Antonio TX where I reside till I move, the highways are very different in Sacramento, here we have a lot throughout the whole sides of the highways and in Sacramento the sides of highways are empty just green land, TX is a country state and I do get asked if Im from TX cause supposably we have a Cowboy accent. I didnt get to meet that many new people cuz we were so occupied having fun and making up for the 7 years I hadnt seen them but I'm sure the people arent that bad, I just hate the dramatic people like in that "Hills" show on MTV LOL! Its very different but the whole month I stayed there I adjusted pretty good so I think Ill be fine

I don't think you can judge the people of california by "The Hills" any more than you can judge new jersey by mtv's "True life: summer at the jersey shore".
Both of which are godawful. |

So what area are you moving to? Sac-town is generally very boring. Try and get a job in Nor-Cal or So-Cal

I live about half an hour east of Sac in Roseville and work in Downtown Sacramento. There's enough to do here, although it will pale in comparison to the Bay Area, where I grew up. But it's right in between the Bay and Tahoe and not far from Napa as well so you can always go someplace for the weekends. Hit me up when you're here, I'll buy you a beer.
