Importing a car from Canada to USA

Hello,

Somewhat of a dream here, but anyone have any experience or advice on the steps required, or better yet, a company that can help with the process (A through Z) of importing a car from Canada into USA?

Car in question is a 2019 model, and we (US) carry it, but it's extremely rare in my area (searching for 6 months and only 1 hit); very popular with our neighbors to the north, though...

It's in a Dealership in Ontario. When I spoke with them, they said they know it's possible, but besides that, were very little help. No contact or broker that could help, haven't done it themselves, sort of "I know it can be done", but that was that.

Anyone know the proper chain of events or order of which things need to happen before jumping in further? Has anyone done something like this before?

Thanks in advance.
- Leo.

Just google up a broker, honestly you americans get in a tizzy about this stuff. Unless you're in California t really is apiece of cake. With the CDN dollar so weak right now I am amazed more americans are not buying from here.

I have imported 2 cars from Canada into the US - 2006 Honda Accord and a 2003 Acura RSX-S

I moved to Colorado from Toronto back in 2010 and had 2 paid off cars, so I had them imported into Buffalo, then drove them to CO

I did a quick look in my email for the Broker name, but cannot find it

basically I contacted them - gave them all the car info - paid them $850 CDN
then we arranged for me to drop the car at their office in Mississauga

you agree on a day that they are going to drive the car over the border, and then you meet them at a parking lot in Buffalo

At that point, your car is now Imported - and you can drive back to Canada, or move on to where you live in the US

a couple of points I remember
1. must be paid off, with title in hand
2. all recalls must have been processed before the import can happen

good luck

If you end up finding the name of the broker please post it.

Thanks.
