Cliched really but I enjoy the evergreen classic Goldfinger and you can't beat the younger Sean Connery for Bond.
Now for cars, of course the AM DB5 is top but I also like the AM Vantage V8 used by Timothy Dalton in Living Daylights with its ski/jet propulsion

Two way tie for actor: Connery/Craig (yes, he was that good) I always had a thing for Domino from thunderball. The car is easy for me, it's the DB5. |

I was very impressed with Craig in his bond debut. He had big shoes to fill! But Casino Royal kicked ass! Looking forward to Quantum.

+1 Ian Fleming never intended Bond to be a super hero. Craig stayed true to the spirit of Bond, even more so than Connery. DAD was a joke IMO. The later Bond films started lampooning themselves as well or better than Austin Powers ever did, particularly with the ridiculousness of the gadgets. The invisible Aston? Really? Really?!? Compare the Brosnan films to the Bourne trilogy, and you'll see just how far out the later Brosnan films were. CR got rid of the ridiculous gadgets, the self lampooning, and brought the Bond films back to where they should be IMO. I'll also add that Connery and Craig are also the only two actors with the physical presence to play Bond properly IMO. Brosnan, Dalton and Moore all came across as light weights. |

In his book, From Russia with Love, Fleming described Bond: “Height: 183 cm (6 feet), weight: 76 kg; slim build; eyes: blue; hair: black; scar down right cheek and on left shoulder; all-round athlete; expert pistol shot, boxer, knife-thrower; does not use disguises. Languages: French and German. Smokes heavily. Vices: drink, but not to excess, and women.” Dalton, Moore and Brosnan all don't come across as boxers and all-round athletes (to me). Connery is a former body builder. Craig clearly looked athletic in CR. Craig's being blond isn't all that bad to me because he matches the standard Fleming set in almost all other regards. Craig's boxer's nose, while not a scar, still helps. Bond was also described as having "cruel mouth", which Craig also has, as did Connery. Only Connery and Craig come off as tough enough to me. The B&W bathroom scene in CR established Craig as a brute right from the start, to me that set the tone for the whole movie. Again, this is just my opinion , and as such is probably worthless. I am however someone who has read all the books (granted, it was a while ago) and has all the movies on DVD. |

Wow...great discussion idea here...
Moonraker...love that one. Pierce Brosnan was good, but Roger Moore was great. Dr. Holly Goodhead (great name, well played by Lois Chiles), also Dr. Christmas Jones (Denise Richards!) Aston Martin DBS is a great car, but I loved the 5ser in Tomorrow Never Dies
