You just have to look a lot further down the road for the speed you are traveling.

I was driving through Germany in this Audi A4 on my way to Paris and I was really surprised that it topped out at 225 / 230 km/h on the flat stretches - I did not think it would hit that speed. Got it up to a little over 245 going down a hill.

But on one section of the road, I passed a nice Porsche 911...he was moving at about 160 I would estimate and I just blew past him at 210 or so with a smile on my face. Well, he didn't like that very much and I saw him merge to the left lane and sure enough, he blew past me at well over 210 and just disappeared. Guess he didn't like being passed by an Audi or something.

That was the end of him, or so I thought till I found him a few kilometres down the road where he had slowed back down to 160 or so. So I blew past him again at my constant speed of 210. This must have really pissed him off, because again, he came out into the left lane and he must have really wound it out, because when he passed me, he was going a lot faster than the first time...have no idea what he was doing, but it was really fast.

Never saw him again on that journey.
Man, that Pcar dude has srs self-esteem/insecurity issues, quite annoying.

OP, if your wife's constantly nagging you, either you are driving too aggressively (e.g. shouldn't be coming hard around a corner) or she's really mad at you for something else lol.
Hahaha ... nah she is a german and like most Germans they stick to the rules where I break most of them.

She is always mad at me for something so you are probably right.

I have other problems... My wife calls me a pussy when I don't squeeze through gaps in traffic or take the bait when someone wants to race.

Wife: Aren't you going a little bit to fast (150km)
Me: No
Wife: I think you are
Me: What is the speed limit?
Wife: there isn't one on this road
Me: Exactly!!!

She didn't like that response ... hahaha

I always get a nice car and tend to stay within 140-180 KM depending on driving conditions. I love the autobahn. She of course hates it.

She does have a point though, I've come around corners to cars completely stopped on the autobahn and that ain't no fun.
In my family it goes like:

"need a ride to work?"

"I'm good, thanks!"

"well, the boys were asking if you'd come for a lunch with us soon"

"I don't eat!"

" you might think it is a bit weird you don't want to be in a car with me?"

"nope"

"really?"

"You're solid and I'm not paying for the rears but I'm going in early. The last time you dropped me off to closed off parking place you did it donuts. I'll go by bike"

No doubt, those cars can move. Amazes me!

I saw this beauty when I went out for lunch. Never thought I'd like a Wagon but I'd drive this beast any day. I also saw a BMW Alpina B5 Wagon too.

Soccer Mom cars. Like big SUVs in the US. And almost always black.

That is sharp looking. Can you even buy those in the US?

I didn't even know they made AMG station wagon versions. Caught me by surprise. US website doesn't show it available.

Well... they use to sell them in the US a few years ago. It wasn't in large numbers... from what I remember the AMG wagon was rarer than the SLS AMG Coupes(Gullwing). I think yearly US production was under 800 units. I remembered watching it on MT's channel, but this is the only video that I found...

When we were over there my solution was to just let her drive. She's very susceptible to motion sickness and has control issues. Yes I missed out on something I always wanted to do (drive the autobahn and Alps), but IMO the second worst thing to riding in the passenger seat is driving in the slow lane.

Wasn't worth the aggravation.

Funny thing is that I let her drive more often than not. I'd rather hear her comment about all the people passing her at 75 vs telling me to slow down because my speedometer says 80. (She forgets that the BMW speedometer has a correction factor)

Hahaa Thad exactly like it starts with my wife when I promise her I'll drive slow.

I took her on an autox with an instructor for her and she killed everyone's time. She can drive, she just doesn't like it when she isn't in control. Haha

My wife did 240kmh on the autobahn. But... didnt notice the 100kmh temporary speed limit.

Resulted in a big fine and a speedcamera photo with her behind the wheel

Funny, because she always told me to always keep an eye out for those temporary limits
